It intends to transform itself into a more attractive town ensuring all households in the KMC area adequate and equitable access to basic services, giving special emphasis to proper drainage and solid waste management assuring increase in education to all the target groups, enhancement in awareness levels and provision of primary health care, encouragement in sport and cultural activities, ensuring gainful employment with special focus on youth enabling environment for business and enterprising activities so that the KMC becomes a Citizen - friendly Corporation in future. 19Monthly Newsletter December 17 Some more Achievements Inauguration of remodeled Urban Primary Health Centre at 36A, Madan Mitra Lane in ward no.-27 under Borough-IV : On Dec.05 , 2017 Hon'ble Member, Mayor-in-Council (Health) Atin Ghosh inaugurated the remodelled Urban Primary Health Centre at 36A, Madan Mitra Lane in ward no.-27 under Borough -IV. This Health Centre, supported by National Urban Health Mission is equipped with extended modern facilities. The inaugural programme was presided over by Hon'ble Chairperson of Borough -IV Smita Bakshi presence of Hon'ble Councillor of ward no.-27 Minakshi Gupta , KMC officials and other dignitaries. Pay & Use Toilet and wash-room at Green view in ward no.-101, Borough-XII : On Dec.11 2017 Hon'ble MMIC (Bustee Development & Environment) Swapan Samaddar inaugurated a Pay & Use Toilet and a wash room in Green View, ward no.-101 under Borough -XII. The programme was presided over by Hon'ble Councillor, Ward No.- 101 Bappaditya Dasgupata in gracious presence of Hon'ble Chairman of Borough of -XII Susanta kr. Ghosh and other dignitaries. On the same occasion wheel-chair and tri-cycle have been distributed to the physically handicapped persons of the area. 19Monthly Newsletter December 17 Distribution Programme of Sweater, Tiffin Box & Water Bottle to the learners of KMCP Schools & SSK under Kolkata Municipal Corporation Distribution Programme of Sweater, Tiffin Box & Water Bottle to the learners of KMCP Schools & SSK under Kolkata Municipal Corporation has been successfully completed on De.15, 2017 at Uttam Mancha, Kolkata. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Sovan Chattrerjee, Hon'ble Mayor, Kolkata and Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge of Housing , Environment, Fire and Emergency Services Govt. of West Bengal. Smt. Mala Roy, Hon'ble Chairperson , KMC was present as a Chief Guest and Sri Debasish Kumar ,Hon'ble MMIC (Parks & Gardens, Sports, Parking and Advertisment) and Smt.Ratna Sur, Chief Whip , KMC were also present as Special Guests. Sri Tapas Chowdhury, Jt. Municipal Commissioner (D&G), Sri Baiswanar Chatterjee, Chairman Borough -VIII and Sri Bapi Ghosh, Councillor, Ward no.- 07, Smt. Pratima Chattrerjee , Councillor, ward No.-84 were also present as Hon'ble Guests. Sri Avijit Mhkherjee, Hon'ble MMIC (Education) presided over the ceremony. 30 no. of learners of different KMCP Schools and SSK have been given Sweater, Tiffin Box and Water Bottle by Hon'ble Mayor, Kolkata on that auspicious occasion. 19Monthly Newsletter December 17 Inauguration Programme of Parnasree Vivekananda Kanan water supply booster pumping station in Ward-132: On Dec.18, 2017 in presence of hon'ble Mayor and Minister-in-Charge (Housing, Environment, Fire and Emergency Services) Govt.of West Bengal Sovan Chatterjee and hon'ble Minister-in-Charge (Education and Parliamentary Affairs ) Partha Chatterjee hon'ble Minister-in-Charge (Municipal Affairs and Urban Development) Govt.of West Bengal Firhad Hakim inaugurated the Parnassree Vivekananda Kanan water supply booster pumping station in Ward-132. The booster pumping station project was taken up to cover the entire locality with treated surface water in Ward-130, 131, & 132 along with its adjoining areas which was earlier fed by ground water to some extent through 3 nos. big diameter tube well. The said project will help us to pull out all those big-dia tube wells to eliminate the use of ground water. The command areas under this booster pumping station is populated by near about 40000 population. The foundation stone of the project was laid in August 2015 and the project has been commissioned on 18th December 2017. The cost of the project is around Rs.20 crore including 3 years operation & maintenance contract. The pumping station will run with 2 pump-motor sets and there is arrangement of another 2 nos. pump-motor sets as standby. The 1.2 million gallon capacity semi-underground reservoir will be filled up by treated surface water as generated in 185 million gallon per day capacity water treatment plant at Garden Reach Water Works and water will be transmitted through the 1200mm dia dedicated pipeline from Garden Reach Water Works. 19Monthly Newsletter December 17 Different cultural programmes organized by KMC ++++ KMC observed 100th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi : The 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi has been observed jointly by The Kolkata Municipal Corporation and The Chowringhee Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Memorial Foundation at ITC Park, opposite Birla Planetarium, Kolkata on Nov.19,2017 in presence of Hon'ble MIC (Panchyet, Rural Development and PHE) Govt. of W.B Subrata Mukherjee, Hon'ble MIC (Muincipal Affairs & Urban Development ) Govt. of W.B. Firhad Hakim, Hon'ble Chairperson of KMC Mala Roy, Hon'ble MMIC (Parks & Gardens, Sports, Parking and Advertisement) Debasish Kumar and many other dignitaries. .
