Centennial Plaza Fountain Destination 2011 Page 4 Judge Stewart House Judge F.M. Stewart was elected to the position of city recorder for Eagle Point in 1911, the year Eagle Point was incorporated. He held court in the entry area of his two story home. When the voters of Eagle Point voted to become a part of Fire District 3 instead of having a volunteer fire fighting crew, the Fire District purchase the property on Loto Street that was once the Stewart home. The structure had been remodeled and was the residence of the mayor and his family. To preserve this bit of history and to provide more business opportunity downtown, the city purchased the house for $1 and paid to have it moved downtown and refurbished into several business offices. Over the years it has seen several owners, but none have been as community-minded as Bob and Debbie Russell, who purchased the mill about seven years ago.
