SUMMARY • There are 9,459 people living in Peppard 19.5% of these are children aged 0 to 15 and 22.7% are older people aged 65 and over. The non-white British population accounts for 17% of the total population. 87% of the Peppard population were born in the UK. This is more than the average of Reading. • Out of the 16 wards in Reading, Peppard is the third least deprived ward. 6.8% of children in Peppard are at risk of living in poverty, compared with 18.7% across Reading. • In Peppard 6% of the working age population claim benefits compared with 9.6% in Reading. 68.7% of the population of Peppard who are aged 16 to 74 years are in employment. This is higher than the average in Reading.
