THE UNIVERSITY of SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI FOUNDATION annual report 2007-08 the university of southern mississippi FOUNDATION With a proud heritage and purposeful vision for the future, Southern Miss is poised for its next century of commitment to scholarship, teaching and service. Dear Alumni, Friends and Family of Southern Miss, As has been the tradition at The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation, this Annual Report reflects the generosity of our most recent fiscal year. Since joining the University as vice president for Advancement in February 2008, I have witnessed the great strides made to advance our University. We are now poised to develop a comprehensive plan for our Foundation that will put more focus on the three tenants of fundraising: annual giving, major gifts and planned giving. This plan will help paint a picture of what we can achieve to help our students and faculty realize their dreams of opportunity, discovery and excellence. This past fiscal year was a year of change and reorganization. Thus, you will note a few changes in this Annual Report. In the first section, we emphasize the names of those who have made contributions to the University. Please note that our donors in the Honor Club are recognized through lifetime or cumulative giving. Following our donor recognition is an outline of our financial report. In closing, please know that all gifts make an impact at Southern Miss. The names listed throughout this report represent a multitude of alumni and friends who have made an investment in Southern Miss. They share a generous spirit that impacts the lives of our students and our University’s future. Thank you for generously giving back to Southern Miss and for continuing your relationship with our University family. David F. Wolf, Ph.D. Vice President for University Advancement & Executive Director USM Foundation This publication is produced by The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, and its Department of Communications, with assistance by the Southern Miss Department of Marketing and Public Relations.
