
2013-2014 OFFICIAL SCHOOL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Additional Guidelines for dress code and appearance may be listed in the Student Handbooks. Girls GENERAL UNIFORM GUIDELINES Shirts and blouses will remain tucked in at all times. Belts must be worn when belt loops are present and conservative in style. All clothing needs to fit appropriately. Not too tight or too loose. Girls’ slacks must be fitted properly (i.e. not too tight). They are to have no frays or holes. When weather dictates, only school approved outerwear is allowed inside school buildings. No hats, caps, or sweatshirt hoods may be worn during the regular school day. No extreme hair dyes or hair styles. Appropriateness to be determined by administration. Jewelry: Conservative in style and size. Multiple ear piercing is prohibited as is any other body piercing. Tee shirts (undershirts) worn by students must be solid colors of white, grey, navy, or black. No printed undershirts are permitted. P.E. Uniforms are purchased through the uniform stores Chapel attire is required on Wednesday of each week. Spirit wear shirts, purchased from the school, may be worn on each Friday with uniform approved pants, skorts, etc. GIRLS (K-5th GRADES) Non-Chapel Days All clothing must be purchased from a uniform store. **The only exceptions are the items marked with an asterisk. ** BLOUSES White (short/long sleeve) Peter Pan Blouse (to wear with navy or plaid jumper). SHIRTS Royal Blue, White, Red, Navy, Hunter Green, and Black colors in polo style shirt (short/long sleeve, regular or girls’ fitted polo) w/school logo Logo may be heat-pressed or embroidered on polo shirts. White or Blue oxford shirt (short/long sleeve) with MPCS logo. White, Navy, Hunter Green turtlenecks may be worn under jumpers (no logo required), not to be worn independently. JUMPERS Navy Jumper Style #156 with White Peter Pan Blouse listed above. Plaid Jumper with white Peter Pan or Turtleneck (Plaid #60, style #194) (no shorter than 2” above the knee, and must be worn with bike shorts) Jumpers are not required to have a logo but must be from the uniform store. Navy Jumper #156 permitted for Chapel. (K-5th only) SKIRTS Khaki or Navy Pleated Skirt style #143, (no shorter than 2” above the knee, and must be worn with bike shorts). Khaki Skirt not permitted for Chapel. SKORTS Khaki, Plaid, or Navy Wrap, Tab or Full Wrap Skort, (no shorter than 2” above the knee) Khaki Skort not permitted for Chapel (K-5th only) SHORTS Khaki or Navy Uniform Shorts (Pleated or Flat Front)* Khaki Shorts not permitted for girls on Chapel days CAPRIS Khaki or Navy Capri Pants Style #2549 or #5155 Capris must be purchased in uniform stores. Khaki or Navy Cargo Capri Pants Universal Style #626 Khaki Capri Pants not permitted for Chapel. DRESS Navy Knit shirt dress, (K-2nd only allowed to wear this dress) Navy Knit shirt dress is not permitted for Chapel SLACKS Khaki or Navy Uniform Slacks (Pleated or Flat Front),* Style # 7113, #7115, or #7427. Khaki or Navy Uniform Low Rise Flare Pants Style #2548 or #4049 Only Khaki Pants are permitted for Chapel. The following is a list of the only approved non-uniform store slacks. They will not need the MPCS initials logo, but must be on the approved list in order to be worn. Not all pants from these stores are acceptable. If you are unsure it meets the criteria, please check with the administration. *Belk, American Eagle, GAP, Old Navy, Land’s End, Styles such as Chino/Classic Fit – Khaki or Navy, Traditional Pleated or Flat Front – Khaki or Navy *French Toast: Traditional Pleated or Flat Front – Khaki or Navy NO “STONE” COLOR or NON-UNIFORM LOW RISE FLARE WILL BE ACCEPTABLE. TRADITIONAL KHAKI ONLY. If you are unsure it meets the criteria, please check with the administration. OUTERWEAR ONLY Outerwear approved by an organization from within the school (e.g. athletics, band, booster clubs, color guard, cheerleaders, etc.) or purchased in the school store may be worn inside the buildings and classrooms. These must be in the school colors of blue, black, gray, or white to be approved for wearing during the school day. Uniform store logo-embroidered items are also allowed in the buildings and classrooms in the following styles: Navy or Black Cardigan, Pullover, or Sweater Vest with MPCS embroidered monogram. Navy or Black Fleece Lined Windbreaker with MPCS embroidered monogram Navy or Black Fleece Jacket (half or full zip) with MPCS embroidered monogram Navy or Black Fleece Vest with MPCS embroidered monogram Navy or Black Sweatshirt with with MPCS embroidered monogram Heat press logos are acceptable on these garments if the fabric allows. Students may wear heavier coats or other outerwear when transitioning from one building to another, but must not wear these items in the classrooms. BELTS Conservative in Style and Color, no studs or large buckles Khaki or Navy stretch fabric belt or magnetic belt Brown or Black solid leather belt, smooth or braided HAIR School uniform colors used for headband, scrunchie, barrette, or bow, ACCESSORIES No feathers or distracting accessories. Accessories must be conservative in style and size. No hair dyes of unnatural hair colors are allowed. SOCKS/ Boys or Girls: White, Navy, Hunter Green, Khaki, or Red Crew Socks or White sport socks TIGHTS Girls: Knee Highs (cable, flat, or opaque), White or Navy Opaque Tights SHOES Conservative school-type shoes in black, brown, navy (new) or tan. (No open toes, sandals, heelies, or flip flops), Conservative (neutral colors only), non-skid sole boots may be worn from Dec. 1-March 31. Pants must not be tucked into boots. Boots may be worn with full-length pants only. Ballet slipper, Toms or Keds style slip-on shoes must be in white, blue, gray, or black solid colors Tennis shoes predominately in school colors of White, Black, Blue, Gray (accent colors or soles must be minimal unless in school colors listed) GIRLS (K-5th GRADES) Chapel Days All clothing must be purchased from a uniform store. **The only exceptions are the items marked with an asterisk. ** Girls in K-5th have two options for chapel days. They may wear the navy jumper with the white blouse or khaki pants and a navy polo shirt. Shorts for girls are not allowed on chapel days. SHIRTS Navy Polo w/logo is required for chapel, unless wearing the approved navy jumper. BLOUSES White (short/long sleeve) Peter Pan Blouse (to wear with navy jumper). White ¾ sleeve blouse with MPCS logo with white cami or tee to be worn underneath- only purchased in uniform stores. SKIRTS Khaki or Navy Long Skirt (#1526 or #2662) SLACKS Khaki or Navy Uniform Slacks (Pleated or Flat Front)* Khaki or Navy Uniform Low Rise Flare (#2548) Khaki Pants only are Permitted for Chapel. The following is a list of the only approved non-uniform store slacks. They will not need the MPCS initials logo, but must be on the approved list in order to be worn. If you are in doubt if a pair of pants will be approved, ask the school to approve. *Belk, American Eagle, GAP, Old Navy, Land’s End, Styles such as Chino/Classic Fit – Khaki or Navy, Traditional Pleated or Flat Front – Khaki or Navy Other slacks guidelines: NON-UNIFORM LOW RISE FLARE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. TRADITIONAL KHAKI ONLY. At the waist or just below the waist. Low waist should have 4”zipper or more.
