Chief Warrant Officer Éric Beaumier After 31 years of loyal and dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces and to the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, CWO Eric Beaumier will retire on 15 Nov 2019. CWO Beaumier enrolled in the CAF in Nov 1988, completing his basic training and QL3 at CFB St-Jean. Upon completion of his trade qualification in Dec 1989, he was posted to 1 Service Battalion (1 Svc Bn) at CFB Calgary. Employed in Maint Coy for the first 2 years, he completed his QL4 OJT within various units on base, such as 1 PPCLI and LDSH (RC). He spent the next 2 years with Adm Coy, completing his QL5 in Borden and was promoted to Cpl. In July 1993; he was posted to 3R22R as part of the 10/90 battalion. Located in Farnham, the unit eventually reverted back to a full size battalion and following a tour in Bosnia in 1995, CWO Beaumier moved with the unit to Valcartier in 1996. He would spend the next 3 years in 3R22R, deploying to Haiti in 1997, and in Beloeil, Quebec area during the ice storm crisis of 1998 before being posted to 5 Svc Bn in 1999. Promoted to MCpl in 2001, CWO Beaumier moved to ASU Valcartier to supervise production on the VIP IRIS fielding project. His next assignment would be to CFB Gagetown in 2002 with Maint Coy, CWO Beaumier performed his duties in Recovery and other miscellaneous sections as well as with the Armd School. He deployed to the Golan Heights in Dec 2004. Promoted to the rank of Sgt in 2005, CWO Beaumier was employed as IC Inf School Maint Detachment then joined the 2 RCR Battle Group in Afghanistan in 2007 as IC A vehicle section. Upon promotion to the rank of WO in 2008, CWO Beaumier was posted to CFB Halifax as IC Halifax Maint and subsequently as IC Maint Shearwater. Promoted to the rank of MWO in 2010, he took on the duties of Control Officer with TEME, until his posting, in July 2012, to the RCEME School Regimental Company as Company Sergeant-Major. In April 2015, CWO Beaumier was promoted to his current rank and, after having participated in the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, he was posted to 202 Workshop Depot as the Unit RSM. In June 2018, he was appointed as DGLEPM Divisional Sergeant-Major. CWO Beaumier holds a master’s degree in information management from Dalhousie University, a certificate in defense and security from Algonquin College and a college diploma in business administration from College de Limoilou. Eric has accepted a Public Service position with the Department of Public Safety Canada as Lead Planner and will commence this new chapter in his professional career on 18 November 2019. Eric and Sarah will then be both employed as Public Servants within the National Capital Region and plan on remaining in the Ottawa area.
