We would like for you to get a small snapshot of who we are and what our values are. We want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us and consider us as future parents for your child. our adoption story We decided to adopt after dealing with infertility for a few years. We have both always liked the idea of adoption and the symbolism of the love God had for us when He adopted us as His own children. We believe family comes through love. We are so thankful to get the opportunity to adopt a child and raise them up in a loving home. a little bit ABOUT US We have been happily married since April 2015. We met in 2013 at a bonfire, and sparks have been flying ever since! We dated for just over a year before we got engaged, and we were married 4 months later. Many people describe us as cute, funny, and sweet together! We like to laugh and be silly whenever we can! We both value our relationship with God as the center of our relationship. We learn everyday how to be more kind, patient, and loving through what the Lord is teaching us. HELLO, I'M Timothy Checking out a bird's nest Golf or pool? I grew up in Ottawa and the KC area. As a child I loved playing outside and with my dog. I also loved reading and playing soccer. I work as a merchandiser at Costco, where I've been for over 5 years. I was a cook in the Navy for 4 years after high school, and then went on to culinary school. I love to read. I just can’t seem to find enough time to read all the books I want to though! I like to spend time outdoors watching nature and enjoying the sounds of the birds. I love animals and would love to have a dog sometime in the near future. Cuddling with Heidi (my in-laws' dog) Enjoying a relaxing day outside I'm looking forward to being a father. I want to be a kindhearted dad who makes sure my child knows I love them, and they know I will provide for them, support them, and that they can come to me for advice and help. At the park with one of the kids I nanny Cookin' up something yummy! I grew up just outside of the KC area in a small town. I have fond memories of my childhood. I loved to read and cook with my mom and play with the kids in the neighborhood. I also spent a lot of time playing outside and doing all kinds of arts and crafts with my older brother and my younger sister. My parents were very loving and let us be creative and try things we were interested in. I am currently a nanny, but I also sell Pampered Chef and Earthley Wellness products online. I have worked with children for most of my life. I started out with babysitting, then worked at a daycare, then I got my degree in Elementary Education and worked in schools for 10 years. I Looking for a new meal idea! Playing with cousins enjoy crossword puzzles, embroidery and cross stich, cooking, and spending time with my sister. I love animals and nature and learning about herbs and other natural health products. I like to make delicious and healthy meals. I make most things from scratch and love being creative with my cooking! I have been looking forward to being a mom for so long! I often say I am a mom but without kids of my own since I've worked so long caring for children and feel like it is naturally a part of who I am. I'm looking forward to giving a child a life of creativity, learning, exploring, and love. From Tim: Emily is so kind and ambitious. Playing with cousins From Tim: Emily is so kind and ambitious. She is great with children and meeting their needs and understanding that each child is different with their own personality, likes, dislikes, and abilities. She loves to teach children and is great at it! HOME We live in a quiet neighborhoodour with woods in our backyard. We love to watch the deer and other wildlife from our back window, and the “typical” neighborhood scene from our front window. We have a cute 3-bedroom home with an average sized yard. We enjoy sitting Fun Children's museum near us outside and gardening in the Spring and Summer. We are eager to have our child play in the backyard with us! On a typical evening, you can find us snuggling on the couch watching a TV show or talking together. We are looking forward to spending our evenings playing with our child or reading books to them! We are so excited for our family to grow! our COMMUNITY Our community has many opportunities for children's activities, swimming, parks, libraries, shopping, and relaxing. We live in a diverse area with many opportunities to learn about other cultures. The neighbors on either side of us are friendly and have young children. Fun Children's museum near us We love to sit at the lake behind our A fun park a few minutes away from us neighborhood FRIENDS and FAMILY Our friends are so excited and supportive of our adoption journey! Many of our friends live around the KC area and have young children of their own. Emily's cousins are very close to her and are some of her best friends. They are excited to add another child for play dates! Our friends Samuel and Anna Emily's cousin, Rachel, with her 2 children Our friends Lukas and Anna with their 3 children Emily's cousin, Marilyn, Cordell, and their 2 girls Emily's parents, sister, brother, and his wife Tim's parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister We both enjoy time with friends and family! Spending time with family usually involves eating, telling corny jokes, watching a movie, and playing games. Tim's parents both grew up in the KC area, so many of his family members are still nearby. Two of Tim's brothers and his sister have a total of 11 children between them with an age range of 8-28 years old. His sister adopted her youngest child. Tim's other brother is deaf and blind and lives with his parents. Emily's parents are both from Kansas, so most of her family is nearby as well. Emily's parents do not have any grandchildren, so they are looking forward to having their first one to love! Both of our families are so supportive and excited for us! They can't wait to have another family member!
