As a nation, we are creating more waste than ever, so we need to work together to reduce both the rubbish that enters our environment and the waste we send to landfill. A lot of waste ends up in our environment, as Clean Up Australia well knows, having supported the community in cleaning it up for the last 30 years. Increasingly this waste is made of plastic, and often turns up in the stomachs of birds or sea creatures, eventually killing them. Together we can all be part of the solution! We need to keep improving our attitudes and behaviour when it comes to waste. Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Compost! Get involved with Clean Up Australia as a member of the Community. Community includes individuals, friends, family, faith based groups, local community groups and more! You have to be over 18 to register a Clean Up event but anyone can take part! Great site choices include local parks, beaches, rivers, shared outdoor spaces and more. Go to: www.cleanup.org.au to register.
