Budd Cox, Varsity line coach; Mike Kormazis, ass't Frosh coach; Head Coach Harry Ockerman; Frosh coach Fred Marsh. Head Coach Harry Ockerman in in the midst of his sixth year at the helm of the gridiron destinies of Bowling Green State University and in that time there has been a constant improvement in the local football teams and in the calibre of the opposition met. Harry is popular among the footballers and is held in high esteem by the alumni. Today's game brings Harry into conflict with his former college coach, E. J. Rynearson, of Michigan Normal. After Ockerman graduated at that school he was assistant coach under "Rynie" for eight years and so the rivalry that has developed between Bee Gee and Ypsi is more than just an ordinary one. Since Ockerman has been in Bowling Green the Falcons have won 2, lost 1 and tied 1 with the Hurons. Assistant Coach Budd Cox, a former Ohio State end, does the line coaching and scouting and has been a valuable aide in his two years here. Budd is the varsity swimming coach during the winter. A new addition to the staff is Fred Marsh, a graduate of Bowling Green State,, who is Freshman coach this year after several years as assistant coach at B.G.Hi. Fred was one of the best guards ever produced by the Falcons. He will also be Frosh basketball and track coach. The trainer of the gridders is Joe Glanders, a graduate assistant finishing his masters degree. Joe came from Sandusky where his work was so essential in the success of teams under Coach Bob Whittacre. Assisting Fred Marsh with the promising Freshman squad this year are two B.G. gridders who need no introduction. Student assistants LaMar Knecht, All-Ohio guard for two years, and Mike Kormazis, All-American Greek team end for two years. ■'■■,;■ i pi Miss Helen Sturgeon, of Mansfield, center above, reigns over the festivities of the annual Homecoming here this week-end. Miss Sturgeon is a Junior and a mem- ber of the Seven Sister sorority. Four attendants selected to accompany her to various functions are, left to right, Georgia Wiesler, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mary Lou Mauerhan, Edon; Mary Herbert, Fostoria and Margaret Bender, Bryan. THE FALCON BAND Bowling Green State University's band this year is under the direction of Prof. E. E.. Smith, who succeeded Prof. Charles F. Church, Jr., this fall following the latter's resignation to study for his doctorate. Miss Jane Shaw, of Fostoria, is the Drum Majorette in charge of the marching- band while she is ably assisted by two Freshmen, Max Ihrig, of Montpelier and Dow Mitchell, of Wayne, Mich.
