A Haunting Love Story at St. Jacobs Country Playhouse Monday, September 17, 2018 WATERLOO REGION – Relive the romance as the Academy Award®‐winning film turned Broadway musical makes its Canadian debut at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse. Featuring the epic love story that audiences remember and a new pop‐rock score, Ghost: The Musical is on stage for three weeks only from October 3 to October 21. Based on the 1990 film, Ghost follows young lovers Sam and Molly, who are happy together in New York City until one night changes everything. Walking back to their apartment after dinner, Sam is shot by a mugger and dies in Molly’s arms. Trapped between this world and the next, Sam’s ghost remains by Molly’s side when he realizes she is still in danger. With the help of storefront psychic Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hopes of saving her life and avenging his death. Ghost features the unforgettable song ʺUnchained Melodyʺ made famous by the Righteous Brothers and stunning new music by Grammy® Award‐winning legends Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (writer of Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror”). “From the moment we announced Ghost: The Musical, the audience response has been fantastic,” says Alex Mustakas, Artistic Director of Drayton Entertainment. “Even though the movie debuted almost 30 years ago, its timeless story about the transcendent power of love has continued to resonate with fans old and new. Theatregoers are in for a real treat, but they are advised to act fast … the show is already over 75% sold out.” Tracey Flye takes the helm of this exciting production.
