Here you enjoy a vast variety of gentle walks and guided mountain hikes, together with natural toboggan runs and ski and snowshoe tours departing from the pristine Viggar and Arztal valley. A convenient transfer bus takes you to the trailheads of the most beautiful hiking tours. We especially recommend a visit to the an- cient flour mill, for a milling demonstration and some tasty local treats prepared by the farmers’ wives. Traditional Tyrolean folklore awaits you at the village bandstand in Patsch. Both Ellbögen and Patsch are located along an ancient “salt road”. Starting in Hall, this major Roman trade route leads past Ampass, Patsch and Ellbögen and climbs up to the Brenner Pass. Today, the former salt road impresses with stunning views of historic buildings and spectacular landscapes. Very popular with athletic cyclists, this scenic route boasts several pleasant refresh- ment stops between Innsbruck and Brenner.
