It evolved from the AAA of England Road Running Management Committee with the objective of having a similar organisation to represent road running at England level as ECCA does for cross country. ERRA is now described as a "Special Association" under the AAA's and is affiliated to England Athletics and will continue to flourish under the new arrangement for athletics in England. Many joint ventures are planned with England Athletics so as to benefit road running in the future The main activities of ERRA at present are as follows: • organise the English National Road Running Championships, matches, competitions and Road Relays. • select and manage teams to represent England in road running matches and competitions • represent England on International road running affairs • maintain the competition rules of UK Athletics in English Road Running Championships, matches and competitions. • ensure events comply with the rules of the UK Athletics and International bodies in respect of doping • record English performances for road running • help coordinate road running fixtures in England and the United Kingdom • advise and assist the Territorial Associations and their affiliated Clubs and Bodies in England in all matters relating to road running (including Championships) The composition of the governing body for the English Road Running Association is as follows: Four elected Officers: Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Championship promotions Officer Six Territorial representatives Two from the Midlands, two from the North and two from the South The Management team is as follows: Chairman: Mike Neighbour Tel: 01256-20945 email: [email protected] Secretary: Bob Brimage Tel: 01516777380 email: [email protected] Championship Secretary: Ken Smith Tel 01617963323 email: [email protected] Treasurer: Jean Simpson MBE Tel: 0161 724 7928 email: [email protected] IMPORTANT INFORMATION Senior Men & Women numbers will only be available at Registration FROM 11:00. Please note that we are at the bare minimum for marshals today (Please volunteer if you can at the Tent behind the results van.at 10.00 ) ALL TEAM MANAGERS are recommended to ensure that their athletes are aware of the course, maps are in the programme, on line at sportsoft, and on the registra- tion van. Young Athletes, as always, are recommended to have walked the course, before the races start. 3 port S Soft IMPORTANT INFORMATION A RACE NUMBERS Each Club Team has its own individual numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. Numbers must be worn on front. Teams must be declared no later than half an hour before the event The letter on the number relates to the Leg being run: MEN 1st ‘A’ 2nd ‘B’ 3rd ‘C’ 4th ‘D’ 5th ‘E’ 6th ‘H’ WOMEN 1st ‘A’ 2nd ‘B’ 3rd ‘C’ 4th ‘D’ B ATERATIONS TO TEAMS Alterations to teams during the race must be made 15 MINUTES before the com- mencement of the stage to be run and must be advised to the Referee. C SAFETY OF RUNNERS ON THE COURSE • All Team Managers should be aware that other than their actual leg runner, no other runners should be on the actual course running in either direction or across the course in front of the leading motorcycle or athletes whilst races are in progress. All runners will be informed of this over the public announcement system. • The start is slightly downhill and the road is narrow. These factors have been considered and assessed according to the numbers of teams taking part. • All runners should therefore be aware that at the start of each race: 1.the width of the road is narrow 2.the start is slightly downhill 3.if the grass is wet on either side of the road then there is the possibility of athletes slipping on these areas • Could you please request your athletes and supporters to keep clear of the traffic area (200 – 400m) before the finish. This is becoming a very congested area and your co-operation would be very much appreciated. 4 to improve safety and enable a smoother start of all the Young Athlete races the A team athletes from each club will be put at the front of the start then the B team athletes behind them Thank you for your help. D CHANGING FACILITIES Changing and showering facilities are available at Wyndley Leisure Centre. Access to the Leisure Centre will be permitted on production of your race number. There may be a charge for use of the leisure centre E THE START As a result of the high number of entries and limited width of the start line the following restriction will apply to the start of all junior races. At the front of the start line for each race , only one athlete from each club will be allowed . This should be the A runner. Clubs with multiple entries will have their B runners moved to the back of the A runners and C runners beyond that This is to ensure a smooth start with the fastest runners away at the front so minimising any falls and collisions in what the congested start area Thanks for your cooperation 4 port S Soft SUTTON PARK 5 port S Soft YOUNG ATHLETE’S COURSE MAP 6 port S Soft ERRA YOUNG ATHLETES ROAD RELAYS - UNDER 13 BOYS ABINGDON AC Yellow with maroon & black sides team 1 Henry Manley Zachary Minto Connor Morgan ALDERSHOT FARNHAM & DISTRICT Red, green & white team 2 Daniel Densley Jacob Harkness Rafferty Herd Lucas Jesse Colm McLoughlin Matthew ReynoldsOliver Russell Owen Smith Thomas Taylor BEDFORD & COUNTY AC Blue, white side trim teams 3&4 Cameron Barnes Sam Bosher Austin Cole Sam Deardon Samuel Hudson Daniel Ross Daniel Smith Oliver Wilson BIRCHFIELD HARRIERS Black with stag motiff teams 5&6 Ash Burgess Oliver Cresswell Jack HensleysmithDaniel Ryan Charlie Smith Simeon Swain BLACKHEATH & BROMLEY HARRIERSBlack with maroon & blue hoops teams 7-9 Jasper Brooks Harry Fage Joshua Healy Franco Hillier Alex Middleton Jed Starvis Hendri Verster BRACKNELL AC Blue/gold team 10 Daniel Lewis Arthur Saldaev James Titmas John Youd BRISTOL & WEST AC White/red teams 11-13 Alex Autongreen Vijay Bakrania Zachary Cox Max Finning Archie Green Daniel Jarrold Joshua Lewis Felix Pearson Ben Pocock Joey Taylor
