Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey Dragons! Need I say more. The start of my adult fantasy/science fiction reading fixation. Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome Sailing and adventures for kids. Speaks to the imagination in all of us as children. The Talisman by Walter Scott They wrote historical fiction in the past (1825) and it was exciting. Who knew? Poldark by Winston Graham Proof that the books are better than television miniseries. And so many, many others.
