The regional semifinal doubleheader at 73,200-seat Cleveland Browns Stadium will feature schools in Region 1 of the OHSAA Division I computer rankings, with games beginning at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The doubleheader at 35,000-seat Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati will feature schools in Region 4, and have starting times of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Exact pairings and game assignments will be announced by the OHSAA on Sunday. “We held doubleheaders last year at Cleveland Browns Stadium and Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals, and we were pleased with the success of both of them,” OHSAA Commissioner Dan Ross said. “This will be a tremendous opportunity for our young people in those areas of the state to play at two outstand- ing facilities, and it should be exciting for their fans to see their local schools play at these great venues. I want to thank the management teams at these two sites for working with us to make these doubleheaders possible.” Presale tickets for the twinbills will cost $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for students school-age and above. The participating schools will announce when presale tickets will be available. The $10.00 presale tickets for the dou- bleheader in Cleveland are also currently on sale at Browns Stadium, and tickets will be on sale at each stadium beginning one hour before kickoff at a cost of $12.00 for all fans. Tickets will be good for both games of the dou- bleheaders. The 35th annual OHSAA football tournaments begin today and tomorrow (Nov. 3 and 4) with the regional quarterfinals. Eight teams in four regions have qualified in each of the six divisions, meaning 32 teams qualified in each division and 192 total schools are in the tournaments. To qualify, a team must have finished first through eighth in its assigned region, with the teams selected through a computerized system of point values. The OHSAA previously held Division I regional semifinal doubleheaders at Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium in 2001, 2002 and last year and for the first time at Cleveland Browns Stadium in 2005. The 2001 twinbill in Cincinnati drew an OHSAA tournament-record 48,589 fans. The 2005 doubleheaders attracted 25,068 fans in Cleveland and 26,421 in Cincinnati.
