INTRODUCTION 1.1 GENERAL The Ministry of Shipping Road Transport & Highways (MOSRT&H), Government of India has embarked upon the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to develop several National Highways in India and abroad. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been constituted through an Act of Parliament for faster, economical and quality Road Construction work throughout India. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been entrusted with the assignment of Preparation of Feasibility Study and Detailed Project Report for Haridwar Ring Road. M/s HIGHWAY ENGINEERING CONSULTANT, Bhopal was awarded the Consultancy Services of the above assignment through competitive bidding. The Consultancy Contract Agreement has been signed on 1st October’2018. The consultant have been established their site office at A-1 218, Jurs Country, NH-58, Haridwar Road, Jwalapur, Uttarakhand. The Project Road is shown in the Index Map in Figure 1.1 below.
