WMMR Student Athletes with Grit, sponsored by Ardent Credit Union CONTEST RULES These rules apply to the Student Athletes with Grit contest (“Contest”), sponsored by Ardent Credit Union, being conducted by Beasley Media Group, LLC d/b/a WMMR, WXTU and WPEN (collectively, the “Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted on the Station’s websites may apply to this contest. 1. HOW TO ENTER AND PLAY a. The Contest will begin on September 10, 2018 and end on December 31, 2018 (“Contest Dates”). b. To enter the Contest, entrant may enter online beginning on September 10, 2018 at 12:00am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ending on December 31, 2018 at 11:59 PM ET (the “Entry Period”)(Deadline extended to 12/31 as of 12/11/18) as follows: i. To enter online, visit one of the Station websites (wmmr.com, 925xtu.com or 975thefanatic.com) and click on the Student Athletes with Grit contest, sponsored by Ardent Credit Union, and follow the links and instructions to enter the Contest and complete and submit the online entry form during the Entry Period, including the name, zip code, gender, email address, phone number, and birthdate of the parent or legal guardian (“Nominator”) of the Student Nominee. The entry form must also include the first and last name of the student nominee (“Student Nominee”), the Student Nominee’s school name and sport, and consent to feature the student’s name, school and sport on the station site on which the entry is made. Each entry must also include an original essay (“Essay”) no longer than 150 words explaining how the Student Nominee has demonstrated their grit and perseverance. Essays (“Content”) must be the original creative work of nominating entrant, and the nominator/entrant must be 18 or older. The Student Nominee must be a student currently enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year and attending a public, private or charter high school in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania. Entry forms must be completed in full. Upon clicking the submit button you are agreeing to accept the Terms & Conditions and you will be automatically entered in the Contest. There is a limit of one Essay nomination per Student Nominee. Entrants may enter on more than one station website, however a Student may not be chosen as a winner more than once. A parent is permitted to enter more than one eligible child as a Nominee, but only one winner per household is permitted. An Essay nomination may only include one Student Nominee. Essays from the same person or email address in excess of the stated limit will be disqualified. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning an email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. All entrants must agree to the Station’s online submission release in order to submit his or her entry. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 pm ET on the dates specified here: (9/30/18; 10/31/18; 12/2/18; and 12/31/18). Non-winning entries will remain in the pool for consideration in any subsequent selection period. All entries must be received by 11:59 pm ET on Monday 12/31/18. ii. Content must be the original creative work of the Nominator and must not contain any copyrighted materials or any other materials which may be restricted, prohibited, or outlawed by federal, state, or local laws. Any Content found to contain copyrighted materials will be disqualified. Content will not be returned. The Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify, destroy, and/or report any entry if such entry contains illegal, indecent, pornographic, sexually explicit content, or otherwise offensive material such as aberrational behavior, graphic violence or drug abuse, or if such entry contains material whose content is deemed at the sole discretion of the Station to be unsuitable for public reading or posting via the Internet. The Content may not defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights including but not limited to copyrights or trademarks. The Station reserves the right to edit the Content. Content that does not comply with these rules will not be considered and will be disqualified from the Contest. 2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS a. Contest is open to Station listeners who are parents or guardians of a high school student athlete, and are 18 years of age or older and who are legal US residents. Additionally, Student Nominee must attend high school in either the counties of: Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester (the Ardent Credit Union service area). Entrants must possess a valid, government-issued ID. Winning Student Nominee must show proof of high school enrollment to verify eligibility. b. Employees of the Station, its licensee, its parent corporation, their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Philadelphia metropolitan survey area (as defined by Nielsen Audio) and the members of their immediate families and households are ineligible to participate or win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents and legal guardians, children and legal wards, grandparents, and grandchildren, including “in-laws.” c. Listeners are eligible to win a Station contest only once every sixty (60) days with a prize valued at $50 or more, or a Beasley Media Group Philadelphia (including WBEN, WMGK, WMMR, WPEN, WXTU) contest with a prize value of $1,000 or more within the previous 365 days. Only one winner per household (whether related or not) is permitted in any contest. 3. PRIZES a. Twelve (12) prizes will be awarded (one (1) from each Station (WMMR, WXTU and WPEN) for each of the selection dates in Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec. (as specified in Section 4)). Prizes will be awarded to winning / chosen Student Nominees. Each prize is a one hundred dollar ($100) VISA gift card. The gift card will be subject to the terms and conditions as set forth by its issuer. Gift cards are not refundable or transferable, and may not be substituted or exchanged for cash or credit at any time, nor will they be replaced if lost or stolen. Approximate Retail Value of prize is $100. b. Unless otherwise specified, all prizes or prize certificates must be claimed at the office of the Station located at One Bala Plaza, Suite 424, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours (9am to 5pm) and excluding holidays. Prize or prize certificate must be claimed within thirty (30) days of being notified that the prize is ready for pick up. Failure to claim prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. c. Unless otherwise permitted by the Station, winner(s) must claim his or her prize in person, and a prize cannot be claimed by third parties on behalf of the winner. If a contest is open to entrants under the age of 18 and a winner is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must claim the prize. d. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. e. Prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash, except in the sole discretion of Station or the prize provider. 4. SELECTION OF WINNERS a. One (1) Student Nominee will be selected by each Station on the following dates: 10/5/18; 11/7/18, 12/7/18, and 1/7/19. Those 12 nominees will each be featured as the Student Athlete with Grit, sponsored by Ardent Credit Union, on the Station website Contest page for on which they were nominated. b. Prize winners will be notified by phone call or email promptly upon being selected as winner (dates specified above). Each prize winner will be selected from the eligible nominations received on-line from all the Station websites, based on the nominating Essay of how the Student Nominee demonstrated grit. c. Nominees/winners will be selected by a panel of Ardent Credit Union judges in their sole discretion. Judges will be looking for nominees that exemplify ‘GRIT’ and ‘PERSEVERANCE’ on and off the field. 5. CONDITIONS a. See Attachment A “General Contest Rules” for additional conditions. b. The Station reserves the right to end any contest or amend these rules upon announcement on air and by publication at www.wmmr.com; www.975thefanatic.com; and www.925xtu.com. c. For website contests: By use of the Station’s website and by entering this Contest, contestants agree to the Station’s Terms of Service Agreement and to the use of Personal Information as stated in the Privacy Policy located at www.wmmr.com; www.975thefanatic.com; and www.925xtu.com. d. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of the Station, One Bala Plaza, Suite 339, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Station.
