Call to order 2. Minutes were approved from the last meeting. 3. Old Business a. Lonestar was contacted and they are still interested in participating. 4. New Business a. Discussion on grades: revisited grade discussion from last meeting use of grade “FX” by one institution, others do not use this grade George reported after lengthy discussion from last meeting, San Jac has decided not to change grade scale b. IPEDS Outcome Measures Report: discussion on who will be using THECB data, and who will be using internal data c. IPEDS/THECB FTIC cohorts: Brazosport College distributed a handout on FTIC students (Fall 2013 cohort) Scott went over data outlined in handout (comparing FTIC differences in what IPEDS and THECB Accountability System reports) and the committee discussed findings d. ASPEN award – Discussion about how far to go in chasing the award if you feel you will not get it e. VFA discussion – discussion about the new upload feature and how many colleges currently participate – Currently only San Jac and Alvin do it in GCAIR. Page 1 5. College Reports/Other Topics of Discussion by Membership ACC – 7% up in enrollment 5% up in CH Brazosport College – Flat enrollment/CH but 0 recommendations from SACS. San Jacinto CD – 3.5% up in enrollment and 2.5 up in CH. Bond passed and there will be a Maritime Building off 146. Currently building models to review initiatives. Galveston College - : Spring 2016 headcount down 3% with contact hours down 2%; on a different note, Continuing Education headcount up 48% with CE contact hours up 117%. College of the Mainland – 4.5% up in enrollment and 2% up in CH. Preparing for a bond and reviewing course evaluations. 6.
