Continue to the ancient port city of Jaffa for a leisurely stroll through the winding alleys of the historic area. Celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Church. Tonight, we enjoy our first dinner and overnight at Hotel in Tel Aviv. (D) WEDNESDAY – February 05 (Day 3): Tel Aviv - Caesarea – Haifa - Nazareth – Cana – Tiberias After Breakfast, Travel to the walled city and Roman ruins of Caesarea (entrance included). It was here that St. Peter converted the first pagan, Centurion Cornelius, to become a Christian, and St. Paul was imprisoned for two years. Next stop is in Haifa; we will visit the Carmelite Monastery of Stella Maris dedicated to our Lady of Mt Carmel and see the Grotto of the Prophet Elijah where according to tradition he took refuge. (Lunch included) On to Nazareth; the town of Mary’s home, where Jesus played as a child, learned a trade, and grew to manhood. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Annunciation (subject to confirmation), just as St. John Paul II celebrated Mass here during his historic visit to the Holy Land in the Year of Our Lord 2000. Also St. Joseph’s Church. Your day concludes with a visit to Cana, the site of Our Lord’s first miracle, at the wedding feast where you can renew your marriage vows. Dinner & Overnight in Tiberias. (B.L.D) THURSDAY– February 06 (Day 4): Tiberias – Sea of Galilee – Tabgha – Capernaum – Tiberias This morning after breakfast, you enjoy a special treat when you take a boat ride & Jesus boat museum (included) on the Sea of Galilee where many of the apostles were fishermen and Our Lord preached. Travel to nearby Capernaum (included) visiting what the Gospels refer to as ‘Jesus hometown” we visit the Synagogue and the church built over the house of the prince of the Apostles recalling Jesus teachings and miracles at Capernaum. Our next stop is the Mt of Beatitudes where the echoe if Jesus Sermon on the Mount could still be heard. Celebrate mass at the Mt of Beatitude. (Lunch included) where we try the traditional St Peters fish at one of the local restaurants on the shores of the lake. This afternoon we visit the newly excavated site of Magdala (included) home to Mary Magdalene. We celebrate Mass here and then we end the day at Tabgha visit the church of the multiplication of fish & loaves where Jesus fed the 5000 and St Peters Primacy where Jesus appeared to his disciples after the resurrection. Return to our hotel for Dinner and overnight. (B.L.D) “To go on a really means to step out of where He has revealed pilgrimage ourselves in order to encounter God Himself” Benedict XVI FRIDAY – February 07 (Day 5): Tiberias – Mount Tabor – Baptismal Site – Jericho – Jerusalem After breakfast, you will travel to Mount Tabor “Mt of the Transfiguration” (Taxi included) with a spectacular view of upper Galilee & Valley of Armageddon. Mass. Our Journey takes us along the Jordan Valley to Bet Arabah or as mentioned in Gospel of John as Bethany beyond the Jordan where Jesus was baptized. Renewal of Baptismal vows. (Lunch included) Continue to Jericho where we see the Sycamore Tree recalling Jesus encountering Zacchaeus, and then we visit Tel Jericho (included) location of ancient Jericho captured by Joshua from where we view the Mt of Temptation. We start our ascent to Jerusalem to Mt Scopus for our first view of the Holy City and enjoy a special welcome into the Holy City. Dinner and overnight Jerusalem. (B.L.D) SATURDAY – February 08 (Day 6): Gethsemane - Masada – Qumran – Dead Sea After breakfast we visit the Church of All Nation and Gar- den of Gethsemane built over the rock on which Our Lord prayed the night before He was crucified. (Mass) Nearby is the Tomb of the Virgin Mary and the Grotto of Gethsemane, the site of Christ’s betrayal by Judas. We drive to the Dead Sea passing the Good Samaritan Inn to Masada (entrance & cable included) where we visit the Mt Rock fortress the last stand of the Zealots against Rome. (Lunch included). On toQumran (entrance included), the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in 1947. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem. (B.L.D) SUNDAY – February 09 (Day 7): Mount of Olives – Mt. Zion- St. Anne - Bethany After breakfast, your day will start with a visit to the Mount of Olives. You will visit the Chapel of Ascension (entrance included), Pater Noster where Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer. Enjoy a Pan- oramic view of the Holy City. Walk Palm Sunday road stopping to visit Dominus Flevit the site where Our Lord wept over the city. we visit St Peter in Gallicantu “Caiaphas’ Palace” (entrance in- cluded). On to visit the Upper Room and the Cenacle where Jesus had his Passover meal ‘last Supper” then to the nearby Dormition Abbey here the Virgin Mary died. Lunch included) Followed by a visit to the Church of St. Anne, where the Blessed Mother was born. We will celebrate Mass before our visit the nearby Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the paralytic. Our final stop drives to Bethany (entrance to Lazarus Tomb included), and visit the Church built on the traditional site of the house of Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus. Dinner and overnight Jerusalem. (B.L.D) MONDAY – February 10 (Day 8): Temple Mount – Wailing Wall – Bethlehem – Shepherds Field – Jerusalem This morning starts with a visit to the Temple Mount. To see where both Solomon’s and Herod’s Temple stood. On to Bethlehem and enjoy a stop at Shepherds’ Field, where the angels appeared on the first Christmas night. Visit the church of the Nativity built over the birthplace of Our Lord. Celebrate Christmas Mass. Dinner & Overnight Jerusalem. (B.L.D) TUESDAY – February 11 (Day 9): Via Dolorosa – Holy Sepulchre – Ein Karem – Israel Museum Early this morning we pray the Stations of the Cross along the Way of the Cross. Celebrate Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit of Ecce Homo Church, back to hotel for breakfast. This afternoon, travel to Ein Karem to visit the Church of St. John the Baptist, built over the Grotto of his birthplace and the church of the visitation. Then we will drive to the Israel Museum where we can see the Second Temple Model showing Jerusalem at the time of Christ and Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. Farewell dinner at Wine and Cheese Restaurant. (B.L.D) WEDNESDAY, February 12 (Day 12) Breakfast and departure for your flight back home.
