We commence on the London eye at 19.50pm and following our 30-minute journey, conclude at 20.20pm. Runner Highlights 08.26 Following the shock discovery that her father was suffering from Alzheimers last July, Maria Bater, 32, has become a great supporter of her parents through difficult times. Maria is involved with the work that the Alzheimers Society does and attends support groups to find out more about the illness. Taking part in the Relay would be a wonderful way for Maria to receive rec ognition for what she does and also raise awareness of Alzheimer sufferers across the UK. 13.21 Vincent Anandraj, 32, changed professions to help give something back to his local community. In January of this year he began a second career as a secondary school teacher in the challenging borough of Tower Hamlets in London. Vincent believes that being involved in children’s education is a powerful tool in helping them to achieve their goals. He is also a major contributor to the Westminster Archdioceses pilgrimage to Lourdes. 18.27 David Weller, 15, is weight training to build up his strength to carry the Baton. David, who has a disability, makes sure that he participates in all aspects of school. He plays football and follows his physio programme at the gym and has proved his doctors wrong at every turn.
