Steps to set up MSMEs 21 1 BRIEF INDUSTRIAL PROFILE OF CUDDALORE DISTRICT 1.General Characteristics of the District For the Administrative convenience South Arcot District was bifurcated in to 2 districts namely, Cuddalore District, Viluppuram District. The District with Head quarter at Cuddalore has been named as Cuddalore District. The District is predominantly Agriculture with Coastal line stretching from Marakkanam which is now in Villupuram District in the North to the Mouth of River Coleroon in the South. 1.1.Location & Geographical Area I) Latitude 15 5/11 and 12 35’ II) Longitude 78 38’ and 80 0 ‘ The total geographical area of the district is 3678 square kilometer with coastal line of 68 kilometer.
