The unique beauty and natural wonders at Hyde Park make it an unforgettable UHPLQGHURIQDWXUH¶VFRPSOH[LW\6OHGGLQJVQRZVKRHLQJDQGFURVVFRXQWU\VNLLQJDUH delightful winter activities. Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the park is vegetated with dense stands of evergreens, as well as aspen and shrubs. A natural refuge for wildlife, the park pro- vides the opportunity for the quiet and cautious visitor to view deer, raccoon, fox, coy- ote, squirrels, and numerous species of butterflies and birds. There are more than 50 camping and picnicking sites nestled throughout the park. Water taps service each group of campsites. Numerous three sided Adirondack shel- ters are available off the main road, in addition to seven sites with electric hookups. Three attractive large group picnic shelters and a remodeled lodge for groups of 75 to 150 are used for weddings, reunions, retreats, and conferences.
