Some members favourite walks Anne Brady Alison McCarthy Starting from Simonsbath and walking to Parking at Winsford. Winsford Hill, Picked Stones, Lanacre, down to Cow Castle along the River Barle and back to (or over if you wish) on pass Flexbarrow and Winsford via The Punchbowl Wheal Eliza, Birchcleave and back to Simonsbath. Just over 10 miles Alison says “ the walk gives a mix of moorland and the river, with Anne says “this was one of the first walks I did wonderful views too” when I joined the Ramblers in 1981/82. Have walked it in all weathers. The trees moved by the water, are still growing fifty metres down the field “. Pam Shambrook Another walk to be enjoyed is on the Quantock Hills going along the Great Road One of Pam’s most enjoyed walks is over above East Quantoxhead and Kilve. “It has South Cleaves at The Valley of Rocks. superb views and gives me the feeling of Pam says “I find the view of the Rocks being on top of the World”. and amazing seascape inspiring” P.
