October 26 Good Morning, I Hope Everyone Enjoyed a Restful And

Monday - October 26 Good morning, I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and relaxing weekend. Can you believe this weather - I’m wondering if we may be in for some snow soon. There is a lot of information in this week’s newsletter, although there is no video message this week. This week’s schedule is - normal schedule • Monday & Tuesday - Normal class schedule • Wednesday - Community Connection meetings. • Thursday & Friday - Normal class schedule Middle school electives - Electives are an important part of a middle school student’s growth and development. Student elective choice is an important part of the middle school experience and we are excited to offer our students several quarter 2 electives to choose from. This week we will be sending an email to students and parents with additional information and course descriptions. From Ms. Barton, our College & Career Advisor - Check out Ms. Barton’s wonderful newsletter! She reached out to parents via email last week and has started calling seniors. She has already scheduled numerous appointments on her calendar from our students! Her plan is to meet with every senior to answer that question, "what are you going to do after you graduate?" Please take a few minutes to schedule a time to meet with her for your individual virtual one on one planning session. Parents are welcome to join if they choose to do so. • To schedule an appointment with Ms. Barton, please use this link: https://calendly.com/bartonre/vop From Ms. Wojtak, our School Counselor - Ms. Wojtak is working on creating a website so parents can easily contact her. Additionally, she continued individual meetings with students and families. Ms. Wojtak is working on posting lessons for K-5, high school transcripts, and quarter 2 schedules. Finally, she is getting acquainted with different resources, setting up ways for the students to access her counseling office and check in sheets, and getting acquainted with Second Steps and Kelso's choice curriculum. (Repeat) Extracurricular activities - We are in the process of creating some extracurricular activities. We sent a Google Form to all our high school students last Friday asking for their ideas. We should have results in a few days and will create activities based on that feedback. We will begin with our high school students and then move to middle school. (Repeat) Checking your student’s progress - Both elementary and secondary students have the ability to view their progress report when logged into PathBlazer/Edgenuity. Student progress/grades are in PathBlazer/Edgenuity, we do not use Synergy. Edgenuity for grades 6-12 includes a feature that allows us to send home daily or weekly progress reports to parents. The weekly report is sent Monday mornings. If you are interested in receiving a progress report, please click this link and submit a request. I hope you enjoy a wonderful week. Thank you! Joe Bridgeman Our virtual office is open daily from 8:00 AM-3:30 PM. The telephone number is 503- 353-1902. Karen Rodriguez, our amazing Secretary, is available to answer questions. If you get a voicemail, don’t worry we will call you back. .
