Badakhshan Operational Coordination Team (OCT) meeting WFP Faizabad hall Tuesday 19 March 2018, 10; 00 am Participants; WHO, WFP, IOM, FOCUS, ACTED, Concern WW, WAW, AKHS, CAF, DACAAR and UNOCHA # Agenda Discussions Action points 1 Welcome and introduction OCHA warmly welcomed the team and the team introduced themselves to each other. Updates on conflict IDPs ACTED: the latest caseload which we assessed and responded are the IDPs from Jurm assessment and responses. Yaftal, Raghistan and Kohistan, totally the joint assessment teams have visited 509 2 . families, joint assessment consist of ACTED WFP DACAAR, and DoRR which led by ACTED, the joint assessment teams verified 118 families as real IDPs and recommended for food, NFI and Hygiene , the mentioned families received humanitarian aid : ACTED distributed multipurpose cash, DACAAR provided hygiene kits , WFP distributed food and UNHCR distributed NFIs. In Badakhshan PDMC meeting 1,775 families which was introduced through a letter and PDMC team asked the agencies to help the governmental team to assess the mentioned families. On 18 March the ACTED teams was warned telephonically in Baharak and Jurm district and they stopped assessment of IPDs which was supposed to be responded by ANDMA. The 1,775 were introduced by chief executive officer and the team assigned to assessed and ANDMA will respond those families. 86 families from Yamgan to Faizabad assessed and ANDMA will respond them. Conflict IDP screening committee meeting decided to assess only the families who are displaced due to military operation and attacks and will not collect petitions. 3 Updates on natural disasters and IOM: during the three last month of the winter there was not recorded any natural humanitarian partners’ disaster caseloads, while IOM has 6,000 NFI kits while IOM has prepositioned NFIs five preparedness during the winter. border districts for responding emergencies and we will talk with FOCUS to stock NFI in Eshkashiem and Shighnan districts to cover Shighnan, Eshkashiem, Wakhan, and Darwaz districts. Warduj is inaccessible and its difficult to pass Warduj to reach the border districts. Therefore, FOCUS contracted with a construction company and the Aghurda road will be opened for the next week because we agreed with a construction company to clean and . open the road. We have good cooperation with IOM to stock NFI in boarder districts, we have supplied food items in border districts. 5 standard stock piles will be constructed in border districts which will be managed by the community. 3 shelters with capacity of 600 individuals will be constructed by FOCUS during the year in border districts. Concern WW: has available NFI in its stock piles in Yawan, Kohistan and Raghistan Concern has NFI kits in its Faizabad office to respond the emergencies in its working areas. ACTED: has 110 tents, 300 blanket, tarpaulin sheet, gas balloon, kitchen kits. And ACTED will respond through its ERM project the natural disaster affected families. WFP: has prepositioned food items in five border districts Nosay, Shukai Mah many, Shighnan Eshkashiem. Totally WFP has stocked 70 MT food for the mentioned border districts. IOM, WFP, DACAAR, Concern WW, FOCUS, ACTED agencies stated that they will actively participate in response and assessment of the natural disaster in Badakhshan provincial level. 4 Updates on access to Raghistan and Kohistan for exposing WHO: first of all, I would like to share a good news which is vaccination of 6,000 children medical services and discussion in Warduj district; recently we could talk with elders of the community and districts on existing challenges in the authorities and succeeded to apply vaccination for 6,000 children in Warduj district. Yaftal Bala: AGES did not allow us to apply vaccinations in Yaftal Bala while there are 521 children in 12 villages CAF: in Raghistan district NID vaccination is forbidden even the routine vaccination also stopped which will Couse prevalence of other sickness. Outbreak is not recognized and the issue is under the process the caseload referred to CURE hospital. CAF request investigation team while the only way to access the district is going through Tajikistan, we can use this option too. Symptoms of the outbreak is headache, favour, exhausted. AKHS: some other border districts which are neighbouring to the Khowhan there is possibility of prevalence of the sickness in other border districts and we send our team to protect in our working areas. 5 AOB UNHCR: supports Sport programs for the deportee and returnee’s children in schools which will be started for 2018. ACTD: implements the Citizenship Commitment project in Yawan and Shahri Buzurg. Concern WW Natural disaster, water sanitation program started in Wakhan district FOUCS will change its name to AKA Agha khan agency Habitat. ACTED: water supply project will be start in Shahri Buzurg and Faizabad, providing drinking water and repairing the water wells. DACAAR: 146 latrine constructed, health message, hygiene kits and monitors the water supply project. AKHS: in three districts ambulance and constructing clinics. And changing the Kofab clinic to hospital. Community health partnership constructed with MOP in health services IOM: natural disaster information management set up and training for six months for ANDMA staff.
