Resolution # 5(a)/10/30/18 Jacqueline Godard and Rebecca Krawczyk WHEREAS the Heritage Advisory Committee receives the staff report “Heritage Property Tax Relief Program: • HPTR #18-01 (Kimmel – 020.006.02101 – 1041-6 Kell’s Bay Road), • HPTR #18-02 (Ingles – 010.018.05900 – 2 Rock Island) *renewal, • HPTR #18-03 Page 3 of 6 Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - October 30, 2018 Page 5 of 104 Page 3 of 6 AGENDADraft ITEM #3.(a) Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, October 30, 2018 (Dukoff – 030.013.01500 – 1099 Wolfkin Lake Road), and • HPTR #18-04 (Hemmingsen – 010.008.04900 – 1154 Dwight Beach Road), dated October 30, 2018; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the applications for tax relief of a designated heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act for the preservation, restoration and maintenance of said built heritage located at 1041-6 Kell’s Bay Road (Kimmel – 020.006.02101), 1099 Wolfkin Lake Road (Dukoff – 030.013.01500), and 1154 Dwight Beach Road (Hemmingsen – 010.008.04900) be APPROVED, AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the application for the renewal of tax relief of a designated heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act for the preservation, restoration and maintenance of said building heritage located at for 2 Rock Island (Ingles – 010.018.05900) be APPROVED, AND FURTHER THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee for the Township of Lake of Bays hereby recommends that these application be forwarded to the Treasury Department for processing. Carried (b) End of Term - Heritage Advisory Committee Staff provided the following information to the Committee: • As a Standing Committee of Council, end of term for Heritage Advisory Committee members is November 30, 2018; • Current committee members can re-apply to become a committee member for the Heritage Advisory Committee, for a term of 2018-2022, should they wish; • The Heritage Advisory Committee is to have a minimum of 4 (up to a maximum of 10) voting members of the public and will include 2 voting members of the Township Council; • Committee Members are appointed by Council By-law; and • Staff will be placing an advertisement in the newspaper, as well as on social media, requesting any member of the public interested in becoming a Heritage Advisory Committee Member to submit an application to the Township. DISCUSSIONS Page 4 of 6 Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - October 30, 2018 Page 6 of 104 Page 4 of 6 AGENDADraft ITEM #3.(a) Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, October 30, 2018 (a) Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation - Update (Brian Simpson) Brian Simpson highlighted the following information to Committee Members: • The Education Building is now closed for the season and will re- open in the Spring; • Currently working on upgrading the driveway to assist with ease of access; • There is now a permanent sign on Hwy. 35 advising of the Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation (LOBHF) property and Marsh's Falls; and • Currently clearing the area around Marsh's Falls to create trails for year-round enjoyment (hiking, snowshoeing, etc.).
