High Commission of India Dhaka 5 March 2013 Press Release Subject: Visit of Hon’ble President of India to Narail, Kumudini in Mirzapur and Shilaidaha Kuthibari in Kushtia. Hon’ble President of India visited Narail, Kumudini in Mirzapur and Shilaidaha Kuthibari today. During this visit, Hon’ble President made the following announcements and gifted the following items: At Narail: 1. Gifted 6 computers to Sri Sri Ramkrishna Ashram, Narail; and 2. Announced construction of a 12 Room block of school building or a girls’ hostel at Narail. At Kumudini: 1. Laid foundation stone for Government of India assisted construction of a sophisticated sewerage collection, treatment and disposal system for Kumudini Welfare Trust; and 2. Announced participation of students of Kumudini Colleges in the 100- member Bangladesh Youth Delegation to visit India in 2013. At Shilaidaha: 1. Announced construction of Rabindra Academy within the premises of Kuthibari comprising of an auditorium, a library and research facilities for scholars. 2. Announced estoration of original colour of Shilaidaha Kuthibari; 3. Gifted a large-sized, laminated photograph of Jorasankho, residence of Rabindranath Tagore – in frame; and 4. Gifted copies of following 20 photographs of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in the Visva Bharti University Museum: Rabindranath Tagore performing in “Balmiki Pratibha” Home of Rabindranath Tagore -- Jorasankho Thakur Bari Nobel Prize Citation and Medallion awarded to Rabindranath Tagore Portrait of Maharshi Devendranath—Father of Rabindranath Tagore Rabindranath Tagore at Brighton in 1878 Portrait of Rabindranath Tagore Portrait of Rabindranath Tagore Rabindranath Tagore in Persia Rabindranath Tagore having lunch at Kuthibari in Shilaidaha Portrait of Rabindranath Tagore Rabindranath Tagore with peasants at his Zamindari in Shilaidaha Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi Rabindranath Tagore with Mrinalini Devi Rabindranath Tagore as an actor Rabindranath Tagore as a teacher Rabindranath Tagore in England Rabindranath Tagore’s children – Renuka, Madhurilata, Shamindranath and Bela Rabindranath Tagore painting his self portrait Self portrait of Rabindranath Tagore Rabindranath Tagore in Singapore in 1927 ***** .
