Conducted surveys for declining native Coccinellidae in western Nebraska for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission in 2012-2013. Conducted surveys for rare butterflies in western Nebraska for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission in 2012-2013. Conducted surveys and determined populations status for the tawny crescent butterfly (Phyciodes batesii) in the Nebraska Pine Ridge in 2014-2015. As of 2018, over 100,000 specimens had been identified to species and over 11,000 curated. 656 new county records and 8 new state records were obtained for Nebraska. Have made major breakthroughs in finding new ways to identify Melanoplus species, a notoriously difficult group, in rangeland. Identify all grasshopper specimens collected in sweep samples from rangeland throughout Nebraska. As of 2016, have been identifying rangeland grasshopper for USDA-APHIS-PPQ for Nebraska, Kansas, and in some cases, South Dakota.
