(Pope Benedict XVI, Porta Fidei, 3) When visiting Rome during the Year of Faith, please join us for the celebration of Holy Mass in English, offered every Sunday at the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia, 10:00 a.m. The Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia is only three blocks from St. Peter’s Square on Borgo Santo Spirito, 3 and has been hosting pilgrims to Rome since the 8th century. The first Mass will be on Sunday, October 14, and is being sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, in collaboration with the Bishops’ Office for United States Visitors to the Vatican, the Pontifical North American College, and the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia. - 1 - While in the Eternal City of Rome, you will have the opportunity to join us for the celebration of the Eucharist: “a taste of eternity in time… a communion with the eternal.” (Blessed John Paul II, General Audience, October 25, 2000).
