This approach consists of collecting samples of substation current during normal and abnormal feeder operation, then using this samples to “teach” a neural network the rules for fault detection. • Postgraduate Project: Project title : A Power Electronic Controller with LCI for Doubly Fed Induction generator in Wind power Applications. Depending upon the wind speed, a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based variable speed wind turbine is capable of operating in sub or super-synchronous mode of operation using power electronic converters is proposed. The proposed scheme consists of two separate circuits for both modes. In sub- synchronous mode and super synchronous modes both line commutated inverters (LCI) are employed. The power flow in the rotor circuit is controlled for maintaining the stator power constant.
