Geophysical surveys were carried out on the Burrs field last year which revealed extensive remains approximately 2m below the surface. As a follow up, Sussex-based archaeologist David Staveley returned in April to carry out further surveys in gardens along Station Road. At the time of going to press the results of this were not yet available.
