TVL SQNY GRANITES, VIRUDHUNAGAR DISTRICT Brief Summary of the Project The Proponent, TVL SQNY Granites, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar District is a partnership Firm managed by Shri P. Karvannan, as Managing Partner. The Proponent has vast experience and skill on quarrying of granite blocks in Sivakasi Taluk and other parts of Tamil Nadu for the last 10 years. They have been granted Quarry lease from the State Government over an extent of 2.21.0 Hectares in S.F.No. 885/2,886/3B etc., Keela Thiruthangal village of Sivakasi Taluk vide G.O 3(D) No. 39 Industries (MMB2) Dept. dated 27.02.2006, and the lease deed was executed on 13.03.2006 for a period of 20 years till 12.03.2026. The lessee had not obtained transport permit during the violative period 15.01.2016 – 10.01.2017. The lessee had obtained transport permit of 8665.489 cbm for the plan period 2011- 12 to 2015-16. The Scheme of Mining for the Plan period 2016 – 2021 approved by Dept. of Geology and Mining vide Lr.Rc.No.7004/MM2/2018 dated 14.09.2018. As a statutory obligation this project needs Environment Clearance from DEIAA/DEAC, Virudhunagar District as per MoEFCC Notification vide S.O 141 (E) dated 15.01.2016, as the project falls under B2 Category individual category <5 Ha and the proponent applied to DEIAA vide Online Proposal No: DIA/TN/MIN/19553/2018 dated 11.12.2018. But, In view of NGT Order dated 13.09.2018, the proponent applying for Environment Clearance to SEIAA/SEAC, Tamil Nadu. There is no other quarry found around 500m radius and the lease area does not fall under cluster situation. The salient features of the project are given below in Table 1.0.
