BYU volleyball welcomes just two newcomers to the team this season: Tanner Skabelund, a Bold – home matches * – MPSF matches 6-11 outside hitter from Stevenson Ranch, Calif., and Andrew Lincoln, a 6-7 setter from Phoenix, Arizona. Christian Rupert is a redshirt freshman this season after sitting out last year. Sophomore opposite Ben Patch also returns after a two-year absence for an LDS mission. Additionally, Tim Dobbert was granted a medical redshirt and will remain a sophomore in 2016. • Home sweet home. BYU is 51-6 at home since the start of the 2013 season. • Senior corps. The Cougars return six seniors who saw action in 2015, including four who started at some point during the season. The roster also includes three juniors, six sophomores and four freshmen. • National teams. Three Cougars participated on national teams over the summer - Ben Patch, Brenden Sander and Jake Langlois. • National rankings. BYU currently ranks first nationally in blocks per set, first in hitting percentage, third in match W-L percentage, sixth in assists per set and seventh in kills per set. Michael Hatch ranks second nationally in blocks per set, Ben Patch ranks fourth in kills per set, fifth in points per set and 14th in hitting percentage, Price Jarman ranks third in blocks per set, Brenden Sander ranks 16th in hitting percentage and Leo Durkin ranks eighth in assists per set.
