Mr. Nagesh and Mr. Rajendra Prasad donating for extension of Girl’s campus Dear Friends, It gives us immense pleasure to thank all of you for your generous support for the past 9 years in helping NICE reach its present state of having 135 boys and being able to start a new girl’s home with 13 girl students in a separate campus. We have also constructed a staff quarters to accommodate 20 staff (teaching and non-teaching) members. Several students who have passed their 10th standard with 100% results last year are still continuing with us for their 11th and 12th standard studies. We are also supporting those who wanted to pursue their higher education from other institutions. We are giving career counseling to these children and encouraging them to appear for graduate level courses. Financial support from the donors has increased from Rs. 2 lakhs (during 2002-03 financial year) to Rs. 73 lakhs (during the 2010-11 financial year). This is only possible because of donors like you, who have seen the development of the organization and are helping us grow. To date, for the past 9 years, I have been running the organization without taking a single rupee as salary. A lot of people have come forward to extend support to my family, and for our children’s education. I am grateful for the voluntary contributions of many people: Giri Kolanupaka (web designing), K. Jeevan Babu (accounts finalization), Sharath Chandra (Butterfly Fields), Maa TV (for promoting NICE through their TV channel), Seetha Murthy and Dhanunjaya (Director of Silver Oaks School, supporting our children’s education) to name a few. Because of them and all other volunteers who are supporting the work of NICE in numerous other ways, our organization’s administrative expenses are extremely low (less than 3%). We are also not taking any funds from the Govt of India or the State Govt. Our special thanks to Dr Ghazal Srinivas for performing in the fund raising event for NICE and for spreading awareness about NICE throughout the world. Several corporates like NATCO Pharma Ltd, V.C. Nannapaneni, Chairman, IndMax IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Srinivas Yalarvathi, C.E.O., NetEnrich Technologies Pvt Ltd, Satyam Venture Engineering Services Ltd, V. Srinivas, C.E.O, Intelli Group Asia Pvt Ltd, Microsoft India R&D Pvt Ltd, Charities Aid Foundation India, Hope Advertising Pvt Ltd, K.S.Rao, CEO, S.V.S Projects Pvt. Ltd, B.V. Subba Rao, M.D, have been continuing to support NICE and other organizations in society through their C.S.R activities. We place on record our deep appreciation for them. We request you to refer to our school any needy or orphan children you might come across. Through our collective efforts, let us continue to provide them a happy childhood and a secure future. P. Purnachandra Rao, Founder and Secretary, NICE About the School We have been running the boys home and school till last year. Now we have also started a campus for the girls with good infrastructure in the same place (Mynampadu village, Kanaparthi Panchayath, Nadendla mandal, Guntur Dist., AP). Anjaneyulu Gottipati, Director, Operations “I feel very happy seeing the performance and results of our students. The school has improved a lot in terms of infrastructure. Similar to last year, we made the children learn farming technologies in addition to their regular studies. They are learning to grow vegetables in the 2 acres land recently taken by NICE. This kind of life skills will help students each their livelihood and stand on their feet. The students are also made to learn discipline, which helps them a lot. Seeing the conditions in the near by villages, I felt the need for a primary health care center, which can help not only the local villagers, but also the children and staff of NICE. I put forward this proposal to the management of NICE and they have responded immediately. They have already started the search for land nearby to construct a health care center. A few doctors have come forward and offered their help for running the health care center.” P. Sridevi, MSc, B.Ed, Principal and Director “NICE is located in a rural area called Mynampadu, Kanaparthi Panchayath, Guntur Dist. I have been associated with the organization for the past 6 years. I feel very proud and happy seeing our children pass 10 th std and continuing on for higher studies. Every visitor to our school has written positively about our school campus, the behavior of the children, and the overall atmosphere. I feel happy for that and would like to continue to work for this organization and give my service for this cause as much as possible. Volunteers visiting the school are also inculcating and imparting good human values to the children. The management of other institutes are complimenting the students of our institution because of that. My supporting staff and management provide their full assistance in running the school. As a principal, I promise that each and every student will qualify from their final examinations with good marks and with human values and they can stand on their own as good citizens and will contribute to our society in future.” Sheik Adam Vali, M.Sc, B.Ed, Vice Principal and Director “I joined this school in 2003. When I joined, there were only 10 children and the school consisted of a very small single room. Now there is a huge building with close to 200 members (children and staff). When I saw the attitude of the management towards the development of the organization, I felt very happy that there is no hierarchical structure in this institution. I came from a very rural background and have learnt a lot about academic and competitive examinations and relevant knowledge and practices through the library facility in NICE. I feel happy that I am contributing to society as well as progressing in my own career thanks to the kind of atmosphere here at NICE.” 2008-09 Result/Marks of first Batch students of NICE (NIOS Board, Govt. of India) 2009-10 Result/Marks of second Batch students of NICE (NIOS Board, Govt. of India) Name Telugu English Maths Science Social Total Percentage Ashok Kumar 85 80 93 73 74 405 81 Nageswara Rao. The students who are currently doing their 11th and 12th std in other colleges are toppers in their respective colleges now. They keep coming to our school and provide career counseling to current students. They are also preparing themselves for competitive exams for higher studies at the graduate level. Based on their academic performance and behavior, the management of several colleges have offered the students fee concessions and are giving good feedback about these children and NICE to us. Mr. P. Srinivas Rao, the Director and Principal of a local private college, has promised and announced that he will provide free education to all the children coming from NICE in his college in the next academic year as well. We heartily thank all the teachers and the institute management for these accomplishments. What do others think about us K. Sharathchandra, IIT, IIM, Managing Director, Butterfly Edu Fields Ltd. Looking at the performance of the school, I will continue to support them by giving training to children in Mathematics and Sciences. Either myself or one of my company colleagues will visit the school on a monthly basis and train the children for competitive examinations. I hope to continue my involvement this way for a long while as I feel the organization is humble and transparent. Smt. & Sri C. Ramakrishna, Chartered Accountant and Director, MAA TV “I thought this school will be like many other schools run by charity organizations. But when I actually visited it and saw its functioning, it was almost like any other city school in terms of amenities and facilities such as a library and computer lab with internet facility. The library in particular has a large variety of books from academic, spiritual, philanthropic and social topics.
