As we reflect back on the past year, we’re amazed and astounded by the tremendous community and corporate support given to our Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center. Once again, you helped us fulfill our mission of caring for and feeding our most vulnerable neighbors. Thank you for your commitment and generosity. Every effort makes a difference, whether it’s a volunteer serving meals to our guests, a corporate team working behind-the-scenes or a group of students joining our Hunger Walk. And each gift – no matter how big or small – goes directly to assisting Executive our guests. Director Teresa It has been a pivotal year, and we thank you for making all of our successes Connolly possible. In addition to providing nutritious food and outreach services, we extended our reach into the surrounding community to help our guests get the care they need beyond our walls. With your partnership, we hope to make each and every guest self-sufficient so that our services are no longer needed. But for now, hunger and homelessness remain a growing problem in our area, and with your continued support, we’ll keep feeding and caring for our neighbors in need. We’re excited to share some of our outstanding accomplishments for 2017: • Served 75,000 breakfasts and lunches and gave away 500,000 pounds of nutritious food. • Continued our 33-year streak of remaining open 365 days a year, including holidays and snow days. • Provided 125 camp lunches each day for children not receiving free school meals over the summer and served 500 dinners to camp families. • Secured permanent housing for 25 chronically homeless guests and stayed involved to ensure they receive necessary support services to remain housed. • Helped 44 guests find employment. • Collaborated with 31 local organizations to bring health, mental health, shelter, housing, education and employment services to our guests on a regular basis, right in our dining room. Because of our dedicated donors and committed volunteers, every guest who walked into our dining room this past year was welcomed, offered a meal and given help to get back on track.
