It was interesting times. I bought a basic computer and printer (£1000!) and a sec- ond-hand ex-gardener’s transit van (£3000) and £5000 of wine stock. Within a few short months I took on Martin and then Janice part-time, even though in reality I couldn’t afford to. The initial wine range was 33 lines, including wines from the Ventoux (Canterperdrix) and the Rhone (Chaume- Arnaud). (A grape variety that hails from Madeira originally & was taken to Australia to try & mimic Madeira wines over 100 years ago!!)
