TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS TO CHESTNUT HILL BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION Following are transportation options for arriving at the BA. Please confirm rates and terms when communicating with the carriers, as rates may change. Directions to the BA and transportation companies, including Lyft and Uber apps, can also be accessed via the internet. When you arrive at the BA’s Original Building (Central Reception) an elevator (lift) is located a few feet to the left of the main entrance steps. You may enter the building via the front steps or with your luggage using the lift. Instructions are posted on the lift for entry to the main floor; the reception desk will be to your right. Option #1 : TAXI Direct the driver to “Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association” at 910 Boylston Street (Route 9) in Chestnut Hill which is a part of the township of Brookline. Estimated fare from the airport is approximately $60-$70; from Back Bay Station $35-$40; from The Mother Church area $35; from the Chestnut Hill MBTA T-Stop $10. From Boston (TMC Area) • Route 9 (aka Boylston Street - starts as Huntington Avenue), borders the Christian Science Plaza on the south side, takes you WEST all the way to the BA (about 4 miles). • The BA is on the left side of Route 9 (Boylston Street). There will be a break in the median and a left hand turn lane. From the turn lane turn left into the property when eastbound traffic allows you to cross. • Go half way up the hill. A sign directs left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. From Logan Airport • The BA is ten miles WEST of the airport. Take the Ted Williams Tunnel to the Massachusetts Turnpike, get off at Exit 17 . Get in the left lane of the two-lane ramp and follow signs to Newton Center, continuing straight ahead for two blocks, then turn left for a U turn over the Turnpike. • Move to the right lane for a right turn at the traffic light onto Centre Street. Go two miles; take a left onto Beacon Street. At next traffic light on Beacon, turn right onto Langley Road. • Go one mile and take Route 9 EAST. At the Hammond Street stoplight (a CVS Pharmacy and gas station on the left), you are within 1/2 mile of the BA. • Continue on Route 9 and take a right at the BA entrance. As you go up the hill, a sign directs you left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. Option #2: PRIVATE CARRIERS Following is information on private carriers used by BA guests on a regular basis. Specify “Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association” as your destination. • Phone: 888-437-4379 • All major credit cards. • WEBSITE: www.gobostonshuttle.com Option #3 : SUBWAY/TRAIN Fares and other information: call toll-free 800-392-6100 or at website www.mbta.com Chestnut Hill T-Stop • The BA is 7/10 mile from Chestnut Hill MBTA Stop on the “D Riverside” branch of the Green Line . • There is no public pay phone. For transportation from the station you may (1) use cell phone to call Bay State Taxi: 617-566-5000 (2) call the BA to see if a ride is available: 617-734-5600 (3) walk (not recommended if you have heavy or excess luggage due to hills) Walking From T-Stop • Cross both sets of tracks away from the parking lot and follow the path to the left of the passenger shelters (or walk to parking lot entrance to Hammond Parkway and go left down the hill then go left on Middlesex Road to Dunster Road). • Continue until path ends at Middlesex Road. Cross Middlesex onto Dunster Road, proceeding until it ends at Route 9 (Boylston Street). Walking from T-Stop cont. • Staying on the same side of Route 9, go left and proceed two blocks to a pedestrian traffic light across from the BA. • Use the light for crossing four traffic lanes. The BA entrance will be visible. As you go up the hill, a sign will direct you left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. From Logan Airport to Chestnut Hill Station Take a free shuttle from any terminal to the Airport MBTA Station on the Blue Line. Take any INBOUND train to Government Center Station. Go up one level to the Green Line and take the “D Riverside” train INBOUND . Chestnut Hill Station is 13 stops away. From The Mother Church to Chestnut Hill Station The Hynes Convention Center Station on the Green Line is two blocks NORTH of TMC just beyond the intersection Massachusetts Avenue intersection. From there take any OUTBOUND train designated “D Riverside.” Chestnut Hill is 8 stops away. Option #4: SUBWAY/BUS Fares and other information: call toll-free at 800-392-6100 or at website www.mbta.com The bus discharges passengers opposite the entrance to the BA. Once off the bus, use the pedestrian traffic light to cross the four lane road. The BA entrance will be visible. As you go up the hill, a sign will direct you left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. From Logan Airport via Subway/Bus • Take a free shuttle from any terminal to the Airport MBTA Station on the Blue Line. • At the station, take any INBOUND train to Government Center Station where you should disembark and take any INBOUND Green Line train, except those marked “E”. • Get off at Kenmore Station and proceed to the street level bus area. • Take the #60 Bus . Let the driver know that you will be getting off opposite 910 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill. • Once off the bus, use the pedestrian traffic light to cross the four lane road. The BA entrance will be visible. Going up the hill, a sign will direct you left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. From Mother Church Area via Subway/Bus • The Hynes Convention Center Station on the Green Line is two blocks north of TMC on Massachusetts Avenue, near the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Boylston St. (Route 9). • From there, take any OUTBOUND train one stop to Kenmore Station . • Proceed up to the street level bus area and take a #60 Bus . • Tell driver that you will be getting off opposite 910 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill. • Once off the bus, use the pedestrian traffic light to cross the four lane road. The BA entrance will be visible. Going up the hill, a sign will direct you left to Central Reception or right to the Christian Science Nursing Building. LATE NIGHT ARRIVALS : When guests are expected after 10:30 p.m., security is notified of the approximate arrival time. Please, let us know if you are planning a late arrival . As you get close to Chestnut Hill, please call the BA Security cell number (617-999-7653 ) and speak to (or leave a message with) the Security person on duty, so that someone will be at the Front Desk when you arrive to let you into the Original Building. 5/2017 R&S .
