Unless you happen to be in one of these conversations, you'll probably never hear these tales. The column, "Once Upon A Time", was started with hopes of helping with that problem. Anyone who submits a story and has it published in this column will receive a FREE one year membership in the Yankee Chapter. So help out your chapter and send your contributions for the column to the editor. YANKEE CHATTER is the official newsletter of the Y ANKEE Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, and is published four times a year on a seasonal basis or when information warrants. The YANKEE Chapter of the AMC of A was established April 8, 1973. Dues for the 1997 membershipyear are $ I 0.00 single; $ 12.50 withspouse . Membership is not transferable and dues are not refundable. Applicants wishingto join the Y ANKEE Chapter must FIRST be members in good standing (paid up) of the National AMC of A; however, applicants may apply for both memberships to theChapter Treasurer at any time, and memberships received afterOctober 31stof any year will be held over for the next membership year. National AMC of A membership dues for the 1997 membership year are $ 20.00 single; $ 25.00 with spouse. A$ 1.00 service charge is made for handling an applicant's National application. Distribution of Y ANKEE CHATTER is to members of record in good standing (paid up), officers and directors ofthe AMC of A, and certain editors and other officers of theAMC of A Chapters. As a member of the National AMC of A, YANKEE Chapter is a non-profit organization. 2 Looking ahead, the X-mas partyis sched­ uled fo r Sunday, December 7 at noon to be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Oxford, MA. It is the usual pot-luck affair. Bring yourself, your friendsand a specialty dish to share. If you don't feel like cooking, I'm sure there will be plenty of fo od fo r everyone, so just come and enjoy yourself This is an election year fo r the Yankee ' Chapter. Elections will be held at the X-mas Director s Message party along with a briefbusiness �eeting. I�y?u are interested in becoming more mvolved this IS your big chance - don't be bashful. New ideas, Well, unfortunately, 1997 seems to be blood and energy are a good thing. Some of us coming to a rapid end, and winter will soon be are growing weary and would welcome any and upon us. For me, 1997 has been a banner year, all who would be interested in becoming a Y an­ full of outstanding motorcycle activities. I was kee officer. As usual things were laid - back and a good time was had by all who attend­ ed. Dennis D'Angelo has every reason to be proud ofhis 1948 Harley-Davidon FL which he finished just in time to bring to the meet. He received a Junior First award fo r his efforts. The award winners gather behind David McGraw's 1928 Harley-Davidson peashooter and Edwin Pratt's 1938 Crocker fo r this group photo. 4 A group of riders leaves the Bidwell Tavern, the midpoint of Saturday's fifty mile road runthrough scenic Eastern Connecticut. The break gave participants a chance to sample the 24 varieties ofBuffalo wings and various brews. A group of Yanks take a break at Coventry Lake during a warm weekend at Hebron. Tim Gottier concentrates on dropping a clothespin into a milk jug at the Empire Chapter's meet in Brookfield,NY . Tim rode his 1946 Harley-Davidson sidecar rig to the meet. He removed the sidecar to participate in the fieldgame s, then reinstalled it fo r the ride back home. Tim won the plank ride event.
