GENEVIÈVE BOIVIN-ROUSSY - Mélissa An artist painter that holds dear the multidisciplinary aspect of art, Geneviève is a founding member of Les Garçonnes, a com- pany where performing arts, media arts, visual arts, music as well as literature all come together. On television, she can be seen as Gloria O’Hara in the series O’. She has also participated in multiple short films including Chef de meute, which was part of the Official Selection of Short Films at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. On the silver screen, she was in Sarah Prefers to Run, which was selected to Cannes in the Un Certain Regard catego- ry, and the latest Fuica brothers’ movie La Run. CREW DENYS ARCAND Director / Writer Arcand is a Canadian film director, screenwriter, and producer whose career spans four decades. His films are greatly re- nowned in Canada and around the world, having won numer- ous prestigious awards and garnered high critical praise. In 2003, he won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film for The Barbarian Invasions, becoming the first Canadian director to win the award. The film also won three Césars (Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director) and Best Screenplay and Best Actress at Cannes. In 2007, his film Days of Darkness was the Official Selection at Cannes for Closing Night. Arcand came to international promnience with his films The Decline of the American Empire (winner of 9 Genie Awards, International Critics’ Prize at Cannes) and Jesus of Montreal (winner of 12 Genie Awards, Jury Prize at Cannes). Both films were also nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Besides his career as a filmmaker, Arcand has published several articles and wrote the book Eucha- riste Moisan. In 2011, he created, with artist Adad Hannah, a 7 minute scene for the 150th Anniversa- ry of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Safari. DENISE ROBERT Producer President of Cinémaginaire that she founded in 1988 with Daniel Louis, Denise Robert has made her mark in the Quebec and Canadian film industry. She produced numerous world-renowned films, including Denys Arcand’s The Barbarian Invasions, which won the Oscar for Best Film in a Foreign Language, three Césars and more than forty other awards around the world; Robert Lepage’s The Confessional, which opened the Director’s Fortnight in Cannes; and Paul Arcand’s Driving to the Edge. She also co-produced the play Les 39 marches, adapted from the novel and film The 39 Steps. She also produced all 3 seasons of Le petit Monde de Laura Cadieux. Denise most recently pro- duced Emile Gaudreault’s film Le vrai du faux and Léa Pool’s documentary Waiting for Mommy. She is also producing a new TV series, La théorie du K.O. Denise is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Académie des arts et techniques du cinéma (César). DANIEL LOUIS Producer Daniel is an Oscar and Emmy Award winner who has over thirty- four years of experience in the field of cinema and has collaborated on over sixty productions. A Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters (France) and a member of BAFTA, he founded in 1988 the film production company Cinémaginaire with Denise Robert, producing over thirty productions. Daniel Louis is fascinated by the human be- ing and stimulated by originality and artistic creation. NATHALIE MOLIAVKO-VISOTZKY Director of Photography Initiated in her adolescence to New Wave cinema, Nathalie discovered her passion for image an- dlight through John Casavetes’s films. Her first film as a DP (Guylaine Dionne’s Les fantômes des 3 Madeleine) was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes in 2000 (shot on 35mmm black and white!). She was nominated for the Jutra as Best Director of Photography for this film and for Natha- lie Saint- Pierre’s Catimini and Ma voisine dans le ska. She was the second unit DP for Denys Arcand’s The Barbarian Invasions. She won the Gémeaux for Best Director of Photography for the series Nos étés.
