GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TOURISM LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.2245 ANSWERED ON 02.08.2021 PROPOSAL FROM JHARKHAND TO INCLUDE MORE TOURISM CIRCUITS/PARKS 2245. SHRI SANJAY SETH: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) the list of Tourism Circuits, Tourism Parks and Rural Tourism Clusters identified by the Government in each State/Union Territory including Jharkhand; (b) whether the Government has received requests/ proposals from Jharkhand for inclusion of more such Tourism Circuits/Parks and Clusters and if so, the details thereof and the response thereof; (c) whether the Government proposes to include Jharkhand as part of the international tourism circuit in the country to promote the culture of the State and if so, the details thereof; and (d) the other steps taken/being taken by the Government to popularize tourist circuits to people of the country and from abroad so that it can be beneficial for the economy of the country? ANSWER MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI G. KISHAN REDDY) (a) to (d): Development and Promotion of Tourist places is primarily the responsibility of the State Government/Union Territory (UT) Administration. However, Ministry under its schemes of Swadesh Darshan and ‘National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ provides financial Assistance to the State Governments/UT Administrations etc. including Jharkhand for development of tourism infrastructure and facilities in the country. The projects under the schemes are identified for development in consultation with the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations and are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable Detailed Project Reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier. Further, the Ministry of Tourism also provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development in the country. The Ministry of Tourism in consultation with the state of Jharkahnd has sanctioned the project ‘Development of Dalma- Chandil- Getalsud- Betla national park- Mirchaiya- Netarhat’ in the State in the year 2018-19 for Rs. 52.72 crore under its scheme of Swadesh Darshan and another project ‘Development of Baidyanathji Dham, Deoghar’ in the year 2018-19 for Rs.39.13 Crore under PRASHAD scheme. The list of all the projects sanctioned under the schemes of Swadesh Darshan, PRASHAD and Assistance to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development is annexed. The Ministry of Tourism promotes India as a holistic destination and as part of its on-going activities, releases domestic and international print, electronic and online media campaigns under the ‘Incredible India ’brand-line, to promote various tourism destinations and products of the Country including Jharkhand. Promotions are also undertaken through the Website and Social Media platforms of the Ministry.
