Leading Ladies star teams up with top musicians and producer for synth-pop single EYES WIDE CASSIDY JANSON seems to be everywhere at the moment. Having 3irst caught the world’s attention with her acclaimed performance as Carole King in the West End musical Beautiful, Cassidy next joined forces with Beverley Knight and Amber Riley in 2017 to create the hugely popular Leading Ladies trio, whose hit album Songs from the Stage led to a string of live appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, The Graham Norton Show, Children in Need, and even The Royal Variety Performance. Right now, Cassidy Janson is busier than ever. April 2018 sees the opening of the West End revival of the classic musical Chess, in which Cassidy stars as Florence – the role famously played by Elaine Paige back in the eighties. As if that weren’t enough, 20 April sees the release of the single EYES WIDE, an instant pop classic featuring a superb lead vocal by Cassidy. EYES WIDE is taken from the acclaimed double album DECADES – which, as its title suggests, explores a host of musical styles across the years. The brainchild of writers David Palfreyman and Nicholas Pegg, DECADES is a concept album featuring an all-star line-up of singers, musicians and actors, including David Warner, Jan Ravens, Richard Coyle, Jacqueline Pearce, Mitch Benn and Sarah Jane Morris. The single EYES WIDE pays homage to the synthesizer pop sounds of the early 1980s. Produced by Ian Caple (Tindersticks, Suede, Tricky, Kate Bush), EYES WIDE showcases Cassidy Janson’s dramatic vocal to the accompaniment of the synthesizer wizardry of David Clayton (keyboardist with Depeche Mode, Elton John, David Bowie, George Michael, U2, Simply Red and many more).
