MERANO HELIPORT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE PROCEDURES Location and physical characteristics The helipad is located south of Merano, in the plain on the outskirts of town parallel to river “Adige” and the railway/highway Merano – Bolzano. Obstacles The main obstacles in the vicinity of the helipad there are: a) the railway to the west at 50 meters approx. b) a hangar and containers to the east of the helipad c) a lighting pole to the south d) a group of trees to the north at 100 meters approx. The preferred route for operations on the helipad is 355° and 175° for take-off and landing. To protect the preferred route has been studied an area of approach/take-off with characteristics in accordance with ICAO recommendations for day VFR operations in performance class 2 and 3.
