In the first two years of the Brooke and Scott Stoehr era of Lady Demons basketball, NSU has split its road openers, defeating New Orleans in 2012-13 and falling at Baylor last season. Last season’s Baylor game was NSU’s second game of the Athletes in Action Classic in Waco, Texas, but the first true road game of the season for the Lady Demons. In the first game of that tournament, NSU fell to Texas-San Antonio. Northwestern State has posted a 2-8 record in its last 10 road openers. Upcoming Games Sunday, Nov. 23 PROVING A POINT WITHOUT SCORING ONE UIW at Indiana 2 p.m. Point guard Janelle Perez carried a double-figure scoring average into her junior season, but she did not score in the Texas-San Antonio at Lamar 2 p.m. Southern Miss. at McNeese St. 2 p.m. season-opening win against LeTourneau, taking just two shots. However, Perez’ impact was far from nil.
