Group A permutations • Anji are through as even if they are caught by both Liverpool and Young Boys, the Russian side would finish second behind the Reds in a three-way head-to-head. • Liverpool are second on head-to-head record ahead of Young Boys and will qualify with a win. A draw would also take them through provided Young Boys do not win. Liverpool would be out with a defeat, even if Young Boys lose, as YB would be top of a three-way head-to-head involving the Reds and Udinese. • Young Boys will be through if they pick up more points than Liverpool. They will also qualify if both they and Liverpool lose as YB will be top of a three-way head-to-head involving the Reds and Udinese. • Udinese are out. Previous meetings • Anji beat Young Boys 2-0 in Moscow on matchday two in what was their first game against Swiss opponents. Cameroon forward Samuel Eto'o struck twice in the second half to down the Swiss visitors, who had appeared the more likely to score in the first hour. • Young Boys were eliminated from the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League round of 32 by FC Zenit St Petersburg in their only previous tie against Russian opponents, winning 2-1 in Berne but going down 3-1 at the Petrovsky Stadium. Match background • Young Boys are unbeaten in their last three Group A games, two wins against Udinese Calcio followed by matchday five's 2-2 draw at Liverpool. • The Berne club have scored three goals in both of their previous Group A home games: a 5-3 loss to Liverpool and a 3-1 win against Udinese. • Young Boys have not kept a clean sheet in this season's group stage. • Anji's 1-0 loss at Liverpool on matchday three was their first defeat in an away game in UEFA competition; they were the nominal home side when they were beaten 1-0 by Rangers FC in Warsaw in their first UEFA fixture, a 2001/02 UEFA Cup tie played as a one-off affair on neutral territory due to security concerns in Anji's native Dagestan. • Anji have won nine of their 11 games in Europe this season, though they are without a victory on the road in Group A – they drew 1-1 at Udinese before that loss at Liverpool. Team facts • Young Boys' striker Raúl Bobadilla is the second highest scorer in the competition with five goals, one fewer than SSC Napoli's Edinson Cavani. Bobadilla also goes into matchday six having committed more fouls than any other player in the competition: 19. • Capped five times by Switzerland, Young Boys coach Martin Rueda was a defender for Grasshoppers, FC Wettingen 93, Luzern and Neuchâtel Xamax FC before moving into coaching. He took charge of Young Boys in 2012 following a two-year spell with FC Lausanne-Sport, in which his side reached the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stage. • Anji coach Guus Hiddink achieved little of note as a midfielder, but as a coach has racked up six league titles and five domestic cups with his various clubs. The Dutchman has also led the Netherlands, South Korea, Australia, Russia and Turkey at international level and won the 1987/88 European Champion Clubs' Cup with PSV Eindhoven. He took charge of Anzhi in February 2012. • In Hiddink's previous games against Swiss opponents, his PSV Eindhoven side beat FC Luzern 3-0 at home and 2-0 away in a 1989/90 European Champion Clubs' Cup tie. He also led the Netherlands to a 2-0 win against Switzerland at EURO '96.
