He was one of the most renowned educators “Als Luise Die Briefe” from Mozart of his time and he served for nearly three decades as a transformational President of The Ohio State University. John McCance Scholarship in Broadcast Media Janae Johnson Awarded to a student interested in radio technology and engineering. The scholarship was established by Grant Hafley in memory of John McCance, a well-known area broadcast engineer, serving for many years as the chief engineer for the AVC Communications stations. Mr. McCance was also Beulah Brooks Brown Creative Writing Award instrumental in developing radio broadcasting facilities at Muskingum University.
