These symposia were first instituted 2012 by the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Australian National University. This year the symposium has an international focus with the following research topics • Nuclear Structure and Nuclear Data • Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Applications • Nuclear Astrophysics • Nuclear Reactions • New Instrumentation for Nuclear Science and Applications We are delighted to have received a strong response with more than 80 participants attending the Symposium. The contributions constitute a diverse program with a wide range of topics. We gratefully acknowledge our sponsors Buckley Systems, Scitek Technologies for Science, the Re- search School of Physics and NCRIS. We thank Stefan Pavetich for taking on the time-consuming task of compiling this abstract booklet, Steve Tims for setting up the HIAS website and Petra Rickman for her outstanding role conference secretary. Details about Wi-Fi access can be found on the inside cover of this book. The conference proceedings will be published in the EPJ Web of Conferences, referenced in SCOPUS and Web of Science, and freely available on the web. September brings spring to Canberra and we hope for good weather and lively discussions that bride different research areas during this week. We wish you a productive and enjoyable time at the Sym- posium.
