Welcome to 2020! Welcome back to our new school year of 2020. I would like to take this opportunity to send our sincere thoughts to everyone effected by the bushfires and join the rest of Australia in thanking the tireless efforts of the firefighters, volunteers, community members and anyone else that has contributed to the bushfire tragedy. It has demonstrated the Australian values and of coming together to support one another in times of hardship. I would like to warmly welcome all our students and families back to Walbundrie Public School. It was wonderful to see all the happy faces back at school and we have loved hearing about their adventures over the holidays. We even have some students that are missing teeth and those that have grown and changed. Our Year 6 students Hannah, Angus and Cody begin their leadership positions at school and we wish them a successful final year. Changes in the Classroom Following on from our successful restructure last year, we will continue with the two Upcoming Events classroom setup. The classes will again be based on needs, not necessarily year Friday 7 February groups. This ensures that each student’s needs are being met at the correct level. You can use visa debit cards and credit cards. You are most welcome to come to the school to use the internet for these payments. We are doing this to minimise the need to send cash with your child to school. If an excursion or activity requires cash, a note will be sent home indicating that online payment is not available. Contact Details It is very important that you supply the school with current, up to date details regarding your child. In the case of an emergency, it is crucial that we are able to contact you or your nominated emergency contacts. On Wednesday last week all families were supplied a ghosted enrolment form to check their details, including addresses, contact numbers, Medicare numbers and doctor’s details. Please indicate any changes on the form and return to the school as soon as possible.
