Product Information Interleukin 6, 30-212 Aa

Product information Interleukin 6, 30-212 aa Human, His-tagged, Recombinant, E.coli Cat. No. IBATGP0352 Synonyms: HGF, HSF, BSF2, IL-6, IFNB2 NCBI Accession No.: NP_000591 Description: Interleukin-6, as known as IL-6, is an immunoregulatory lymphokine produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. It is also a "myokine," a cytokine produced from muscle, and is elevated in response to muscle contraction. IL-6 acts as both a pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine. Smooth muscle cells in the tunica media of many blood vessels also produce IL-6. It is mediated through its inhibitory effects on TNF-alpha and IL-1, and activation of IL-1ra and IL-10. Recombinant interleukin-6 was expressed in E.coli and purifed by conventional chromatography, after refolding of the isolated inclusion bodies in a renaturation buffer. Form: Liquid. In Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH7.4) containing 10% glycerol Molecular Weight: 23.1 kDa (204 aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Purity: > 95% by SDS - PAGE Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml (determined by Bradford assay) Endotoxin Level: < 1.0 EU per 1 μg of protein (determined by LAL method ) 15% SDS-PAGE (3ug) Biological activity: Measured in a cell proliferation assay using TF-1 human erythroleukemic cell.
