She went to college at Cloud County Community College for two years after graduating from Concordia High School. She received her Elementary Education degree from Kansas State University and is now working toward her masters in Special Education. She is married to Michael Adams; they had their first child, Elizabeth, September 5, 2007. Mrs. Adams said that she loves Rock Creek and that the staff is very friendly and the students are well behaved. Audra Akin was born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas. She went to Southwest Missouri State University where she was on the volleyball team and threw the javelin. She transferred to Emporia State University for her Physical Education and Special Education degree. This talented athlete won the Missouri Valley Conference for Javelin in 1999. Her pride and joy are her two wonderful, beautiful daughters; Makiah is 5, and Lexi is 17 months. Ms. Akin loves to play volleyball, read, watch TV or movies, and spend time with family and friends. Ms. Akin absolutely loves Rock Creek; everybody is so helpful, kind, and caring. It is great to be part of this wonderful education team! Richard Dugan is a graduate of Jackson Heights (along with Mr. Beam and Mr. Holliday). He went to Emporia State University and received a BSE with an emphasis in Special Education and Psychology. Mr. Dugan will graduate in May 2008 with a Masters in Educational Administration. He has worked at Emporia Alternative School, Abilene High School, Manhattan High School, and Rossville High School. His wife Michele is a Physical Therapist and they have two sons, Spencer 7 and Grant 3. His hobbies are sports, golf, fishing, hunting, cooking, and staying in shape. Mr. Dug an’s impression of Rock Creek is strong leadership, devoted faculty, and great students. Sharon Eckhoff graduated from Kansas State University in Secondary Education, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. She is currently working on a gifted endorsement through Emporia State. She has taught at Cimarron High School and Southwestern Heights. She is married to Steve Eckhoff; they have one daughter named Avery who is 3. Some hobbies that she has are raising cattle, farming and playing volleyball. Her dream is to build an electric car some day. Mrs. Eckhoff thinks that Rock Creek is very helpful and the students are motivated. The school is modifying programs to help students of all abilities succeed. Morgan Milham grew up in Norman, Oklahoma and married her high school sweetheart Derrick Milham. They have two sons, Jacob 10 and Joshua 2. Mrs. Milham graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Special Education. She worked in special education at Randolph Middle School, Olsburg Elementary, Manhattan, and as the transition coordinator of the Special Services Cooperative of Wamego. Some hobbies that she loves are football, basketball, dogs, crochet, cooking for others, hunting, and talking mopars with her boys. She bought her boys a ’73 Challenger to restore and she can’t wait to drive it to work! Mrs. Milham’s loves it here. She says the teachers and administrators have been welcoming and very helpful. Keith Miller’s childhood was spent on a family farm in Winchester, Kansas. He joins his wife Sara here at Rock Creek. They have two sons, Jacob who is in 7th grade and Eli who is in 3rd grade. His older sister and brother‐in‐law taught in this district when the high schools were in St. George and Westmoreland. Mr. Miller graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in 1991, and a Masters in Speech in 2003. He worked at Hanover Junior/Senior High School, Hiawatha High School, Centralia and Frankfort schools, and at Riley County High School. His hobbies are working on his house and coaching baseball. The family pets are five chickens, two calves, two cats, two pigs, and a dog. Mr. Miller’s believes Rock Creek is very well organized and runs like clock work. He is very happy to be here.
