No. 2696 By Mr. Kearney of Scituate, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 2696) of Patrick Joseph Kearney and others relative to retirement and pensions during the COVID 19 pandemic. Public Service. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Second General Court (2021-2022) _______________ An Act relative to Massachusetts General Laws chapter 32: retirement and pensions. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 1: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Section 1 of 2 Chapter 32 is hereby amended by adding the following new paragraph at the end of the definition 3 for "regular compensation"; Regular compensation shall include all overtime paid to any 4 employee as defined by this chapter, who was required to, or volunteered to, work outside their 5 home during the COVID 19 pandemic state of emergency that commenced on March 10, 2020 6 until the conclusion of the COVID 19 state of emergency. 7 The state human resources administrator shall compile a list of all employees eligible for 8 overtime under this chapter and transmit it to the state retirement board. 1 of 1.
