Surface dressing for Nairn Badenoch and Strathspey will start Wednesday 01/08/2018 and will take around 2 – 3 weeks to complete. This will be around Nairn & Kingussie. Inverness Area Old Perth Road – Works will take place on 13/08/2017 to resurface the footway for 4 days. Lotland Place – Works will take place on 15/10/2018 for full carriage way resurfacing. Telford Street / Lochalsh Road works will be pushed back to March 2019. Events Will be attached to appendix 4 once received. Lochaber & Badenoch and Strathspey No attendance and no works submitted. Ross & Cromarty No works received and no attendance. Alistair will chase again. Caithness & Sutherland No surface dressing will take place this year. A897 – Loch Inver – overlay limit programme has been pushed and won’t start till September. 4.0 Street Lighting Roddy Davidson (RD) listed the following projects in the INBS Civil Works Programme Croy Bypass – Replace all existing street lighting columns St. Drostans, Drumnadrochit – track cable Broom Drive / Drummond Road Inverness – track cable for 20/30 speed signs Inverness Road, Carrbridge – from Dalrachney Junction to Gold Course entrance – replace street lighting columns and track cable. Little Kenneth Street, Inverness – track cable & erect new street lighting columns – starting 27th Aug when road is closed off. Millennium Circle at High Street / Inglis Street Inverness – Replace ground level light – to be arranged with roadworks. Farraline Park Inverness, 2 new vehicle charging bays to be created near spectrum centre – date to be confirmed by Shane Manning. Traffic Lights at Bridge Street, Bank Street, Castle Road to be refurbished, date to be confirmed by Shane Manning. Still awaiting dates for Kingsmill’s Road/ Union Road traffic lights & Union Road Traffic lights (Shane Manning) Caithness Works Work to be carried out over the next few months: Thurso- Ormile Road - 1 for 1 column replacements Princes Street - 1 for 1 column replacements Angus Court - 1 for 1 column replacements Durness Street – 30-40 meters of tracking in footpath and 1 for 1 column replacements. Ross & Cromarty No planned works so far. 5.0 BEAR Scotland North – Large resurfacing programme. North West dates liable to change so they have provided a link below which takes you to their website that is updated every Friday. http://bearscot.com/News/7544/Ongoing+programme+of+surfacing+repairs+t o+see+24M+invested+in+North+West+Trunk+Road+Network/ 6.0 Openreach (British Telecom) Duncan MacLennan provided a copy of Openreach’s programme of works in Appendix 1. Carriage way box was discussed between Alison & Duncan Duncan mentioned the Polling rates being sent via email and mentioned that Alison may like to get a copy. Alison Macleod will be added to the distribution list. Margaret Street junction works – a collapse box was not on the system as planned works. 7.0 Scottish Water . Darren Pointer provided a list of works which can be found in Appendix 2. 8.0 Highland Council -Public Transport Andrew Maciver provided a list of works which can be found in Appendix 3. Alison brought up whether all works were currently on Symology. Tom brought up site bands not on Symology. Not all staff at sites are qualified to compete tasks. An example being the Inshes project traffic management that Alistair mentioned. They are supposed to do 2 hourly checks which have not been completed since 29/06/18 and they were only completely 1 check in the morning and 1 check at night. 9.0 Scottish & Southern Energy Milton of Leys – track works will be on register in next few days. Work to start 20/08/18 and will take around 5 days. Tom mentioned that those days may clash with the works being done at Inshes. Island Bank Road - Alistair will have a look and get back to Fiona. 10.0 Scotland Gas Networks Inverness 1st phase of Merkinch primary school work is now finished. Telford Street was closed as 30-40 meters was resurfaced and is now open. 2nd phase – Dates are not confirmed for works to start as discussions are in place if the works are still required. Bught Park – Works to start 6th August between the Ice Rink and the Sports centre to replace existing mains. Ness walk will be closed for about 4 -5 weeks. Kenneth Street – Lane closure with diversion will be put in for works starting around the 8th Oct 2018. Viewfield Road – To start 10/09/18 for around 6 weeks to replace mains. Seafield Gardens – Urgent work to start 30/07/18 Nairn Replacement works at Househill terrace now complete. Lochloy Road – Merryton Gardens – Divorcing from mains to save work being done on A96. Bridge to Lochloy – Works will take about 3-4 weeks and temp lights will replace the main traffic lights currently in place. 11.0 Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR) Issue regarding early starts were mentioned. An example was brought up that an Early Start requested on 26th for works to start on the 26th was not acceptable. Highland Council cannot give permission for works to be started that day or the next day, they need 7 days’ notice. Duncan wishes to be informed if any of the BT staff or contractors are doing this. Fiona brought up the issues raised in the last minutes have been forwarded to the main office and she will get back to Alison. Tom mentioned a blanket order have been raised until June 2019 for reducing speed limits on classified roads. A road reduced from 60 to 20 mph can only be enforced by the police. Permission is still however required form the Highland Council. U roads are not covered by this order. Laura mentioned that they have no more information about the bus shelters at this time. Mike will discuss with Alison another time. 12.0 Health and Safety Issues Tom brought up that he passed excavation work that was being carried out unsafely. On inspection he found an employee excavating without a helmet on. An investigation is under way. 13.0 AOCB Issues brought up about works complete by Scottish Water on: Murry Place, Smithton– Inverness. A new track was laid however the existing gully (which was removed) was not replaced after works were completed. Alison would like the gully to be reinstated immediately and would like a response within the next few weeks. Ardersier Works Fulmer Crescent – Tom brought up that a pipe burst on footpath – mere weeks after the council just finished surface dressing. Will Scottish Water reinstate the surface as well when they go to make repairs? Courtney will chase and get back to Tom. Ongoing works at Fort George Road – Closure of road for 18 months starts 30/07/18 until Jan 2020. Darren will meet Tom week commencing 30/07/18 to discuss works with Tom for inspection. Alistair mentioned moving the date for next meeting to the 3rd Thursday of each month to give Business Support more time to prepare the minutes and provide more time for issues to be raised with minutes before the other quarterly meetings. 14.0 Next Meeting Still to be confirmed – Provisional Date 18th October 2018 at 10am at Diriebught Road, Inverness.
